Why can't they figure out that Jesus said no one would know the hour or day? How many religions have used this for hundreds of years in support that 'this year' has to be the worst, and therefore the end.

What should upset you the most about high gas prices
by free2beme inyour paying so much in gas right now that it has brought out national economy to its knees, and yet the thing that should upset you this most is this .... the goverment is doing "nothing!".
not one bill has been passed, plan implemented or action taken.
all talk and no action, which is why our government needs to be fired and replaced or this country is done.. .

Why should the government 'do' anything? This has been a well known issue for 30 years, and yet Americans took the easy way and didn't bother to actually change their habits. You have control over how much oil / petroleum type products you use. There are no 'quick and easy' solutions. Any action taken today will take 5 to 15 years to implement. Why didn't America and the Bush administration do anything post 9/11? I'm glad to see gas where it is and hope to see it go up yet more. $5 a gallon gasoline seems to be a good price to me. Finally, it is making a dent in the consumption side of the equation.
It didn't have to be painful, but the majority of people stuck their head in the sand while singing Happy Days Are Here Again and buying full sized trucks/vans/SUVs and moving 40 miles away from their jobs. Don't like it? Move closer to your job. Get a new job. Buy a Toyota Prius or Honda Civic. Take mass transit.
A better question is what are you doing? Have you done anything or are you all talk and no action? Why wait for the government to do something?

No one gets to cash out like that. There are very strict rules about non-profit incorporations.
Nonprofit corporations cannot be sold. If the corporation's directors decide to dissolve it, all debts and obligations must be satisfied, and assets must be distributed to another tax-exempt nonprofit corporation.

My Dad's "Annual" Letter to his Wayward son...
by str8?so is spaghetti..until you heat it up inso it appears my dad is keeping track of when i left.
he has mailed me a letter - the first contact in over 6 months - because it has been a year since i left the borg.. for the sake of explanation, dad is a third gen witness and has been an elder all of my life - po in most of the congs i was in.. yesterday i received a letter from him, it began with "hi boy, this is your annual newsletter of births,deaths, marriages etc so thata you know what is going on with the family" and then went on to recount the family news for the year.
it was actually very touching and made me cry.

USA spent 1 Trillion dollars on war with Iraq and Afgans, good investment??

with no end in site in either country for maybe the next 10 years, do you think they could have avioded this and spent this elsewhere...can you imagine 900 billion spent on american healthcare or homeland security?

$1 trillion doesn't even cover it. Most all experts agree at a minimum the war will cost around $2.5 trillion to as high as $3.5 trillion. Once Congress passes the funding for the war to last until spring of next year our hard costs will be about $750 billion just on the military effort. But one also has to add in the other costs that must be borne, including but not limited to:
The additional interest on the debt incurred financing the war.
Paying for healthcare and making disability payments for the next 30 to 50 years for all 31,000 wounded (so far) in the war.
Additional veteran's benefits war time action merits.
Replacing weapons systems prematurely worn out and lost in combat.
Death and survivor benefits payment for those killed in action for all of their family and children
And the list goes on and on. This author wrote a book about it, called 'The $3 Trillion War'.

College gives you critical reasoning and thinking skills. It challenges your preconceived notions and forces you to examine your core beliefs. Also, using the internet is a necessary thing in college.
The Dubs are facing what many other religions have faced in the past. Knowledge is power. Previously many churches were the only source of knowledge. The Dubs have nothing to offer anyone anymore, and their beliefs are laughable given the history of their teachings, that is all laid out in detail on the net.
