  but our family wasn`t sure what was good spiritual food.

  Prayer? Why Bother?

  did it seem that jw's truly valued and promoted the avenue of prayer as a real force in one's life?

  when you *sinned*, it was like you needn't bother jehovah with your pathetic self through prayer and a one on one with the almighty and receive peace and complete forgiveness via this precious privilege god provides.

  oh no....you should talk with the elders and let them handle your pathetic, sinful self and leave jehovah and jesus out of it.

  the more i listen to the religion argument the more atheist i become.

  their are still some things that are hard to explain and most simply doesnt need explaining who cares?

  just because we dont know the explanation doesnt mean there isnt one!.

  i recall posting about this topic almost two years ago, but i believe it's worth resurrecting for the interest of newer posters here.

  i made the comment then that if you repeat something often enough, in time it becomes believed as "truth" itself.

  my view hasn't changed in two years, but i notice that in a recent thread a well used teaching of the dubs was repeated on the board as if it were undisputed truth, like the reality of the sun rising each day.

  OMG,you ought to see the Church of Christ down the street from me.When they have services the parking lots are spilling over.People have to park on the street.Seems to me like most churches are the same way on Sunday.I know the WTS always said the churches are drying up,but I don't see it.

  When I was 12 years old I was playing with a ouija board.It all seemed innocent enough but all of a sudden that very night strange things started to happen.I went downstairs while my mom had company and peed on the floor right in front of them.Then my appearance began to change.I developed yellow eyes and a real ugly face.All of a sudden my room got very cold, my bed started shaking and my body levitated.Mom called a priest in and I cursed at him and threw up green peas.He couldn't take it so he had a heart attack.In the end,the demon attacked his partner priest and he jumped out of the window and committed suicide.

  after reading many posts on this site, it seems we all share the same types of fears.while witnesses, some were petrified to give a talk in the theocratic ministry school.

  others were sick to their stomach to go out in door to door work.

  if the elders said that they wanted to talk to you after the meeting, fear would set in throughout the whole night.

  Hamburger - fluff time

  i have been very busy translating the dead sea scrolls and finding out how to explain to everyone what is the meaning of life, so i feel a need to take a break from my ponderous works to ask all of you a pregnant question, to wit, what is your favorite dish that is mainly comprised of hamburger, or contains hamburger as a major ingredient?

  i do request that you only provide one, and only one selection.

  (those who disobey this rule will be disfellowshipped and will not get a christmas present from me this year, even if i promised you one.

  We barbecue burgers outside on the grill in the summer.A lot of people tell me they have never eaten barbecued hamburgers but they are good and don't really need any condiments either.

  the other day we went to a christening for one of andy's grand nephew's.

  andy's neice is half aussie half italian and her husband is full italian...so what a grandiose affair it was...i loved every minute of it.

  the first thing i noticed was all the gold...every male wore a gold necklace, usually italian gold and not aussie gold - apparently.
