the one that got me recently is the matter of elders being removed if they encourage college education in the cong.
where in the scriptures?
any others that spring to mind?
When Paul says to "remove the wicked man from among yourselves [the congregation]" he does not state that he should be removed from your family, if he happens to be a relative. In harmony with Paul's other words regarding understanding and discernment, it would be up to each Christian to determine how to handle the family situation based on any number of variables. That is precisely why Paul did not state a rule with respect to family members. However, the Society certainly does.

ok, i will keep this breif.. i have always had a problem with conscience matter's and here is my reasoning.
whenever a conscience matter issue comes up, they always end with a comment something like "whatever your conscience allows you to do" and you will answer to god for your actions.. i believe there is no such of a thing as a conscience matter for the following reasons:.
1) if there was a conscience matter posed to jesus, what side of the issue would he choose?
I would prefer that the is just a rule and you wither follow it or not.
The law given to Moses was a grand object lesson designed to teach us that we really wouldn't want a rule to "follow it or not." As Paul pointed out to the Galatians, such a code of laws was impossible for humans to follow and amounts to a burden that we can't bear. He also comments that Jesus taught as he did so that law would be inscribed on hearts rather than tablets of stone.
Paul pointed out to the Ephesians that the role of the "gifts in men" is to bring the congregation to maturity, to the stature of a full-grown man in Christ. Given Jesus' example, Paul was not referring to a full-grown man as someone who needed to have every move legislated.
In discussing the "more important things" with the Philippians, Paul stressed "full discernment" as being an ability to strive for so as to grow in love as a Christian.
If you are seeking organizational recognition, then play the game. The rules of the game are clearly set before you. If, on the other hand, you are seeking to be a full grown man in Christ, it is the striving that is pleasing to God, not so much the end result.

the topic of generation.
who according is "this generation"?
maybe they better reclass it again because in the bible states:
This scripture was used to support the 1995 explanation that the generation consisted of the wicked as opposed to the current explanation that the generation consists of the anointed.
Focusing on the group indicated by Jesus words at Matthew 24:34 rather than on the time-sensitivity of his prophecy creates the kind of problem you identify in your post.
Whether or not the first century fulfillment of Jesus' prophecy has a greater fulfillment or not, it was demonstrated that his prophecy was fulfilled within the lifetime of those to whom Jesus preached.

i presume they do.
they are probably so intoxicated by their own power that they belive in the never ending rubbish.. or am i wrong?
is there other reasons to stay on the top of the hill?.
Although awareness varies from member to member of the GB, I'm quite sure they all believe that they are a most privileged part of "Jehovah's Organization" and the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" class. They are in love with the traditions and lore of those who have preceded them in their position. They are "humbled" by the priviledge of carrying on the tradition, adding their contributions to it, and expanding "Kingdom Interests."
This is the concept to which they are captive. It's not about them believing in themselves.

hi folks,.
since discovering that the "rutherford exposed" thread i started 4 years ago was reconstructed in its entirety after it had become currupted here due to some computer glitch, even newer information has come to light and some new clues have also arisen for researchers to ferret out.. the link to the pdf of the fully restored original 227 page thread (together with a short summary of the major points) is found in another thread i started here:.
explosive rutherford thread restored.
I only knew Bonnie late in life, but I would say that Bonnie is the lady in the hat in both pictures.
Julian it is. The party was circa 1955 or 1956.

I knew Bonnie and Bill Heath personally from the time I was a child until well into my 20s, when they both died. Bill was a southern gentleman and Bonnie was loud, outspoken and flamboyant--hats and all. The word was that Bill was disinherited from the Coca-Cola fortune when he became a JW. I have heard that his mother, on the other hand, made sure that Bill and Bonnie lived very well. I had been a guest in two of their homes on two occasions. One occasion was a lavish Hawaiian-themed party in the San Diego area that could have been at Beth Shan, although I seem to remember that it was in North San Diego County near Mt. Palomar. The other time was when they lived in Santa Monica. They were guests in my parent's home many times. They ultimately moved to a large house in Bill's hometown of Atlanta, GA. At that time, my father was having a hard time financially, and they invited my parents and me to live with them in Atlanta. My father wouldn't hear of it and not long after bounced back financially.
The last time I saw them was in my parent's home. Bonnie commented rather tactlessly that it's a good thing my newborn daughter looks more like my wife than me. I actually thought it was pretty funny.
Their close relationship with J.F. Rutherford is quite well chronicled on this board. From what I knew of Bonnie and Bill, they and the Judge were "peas in a pod."

i was always uncomfortable singing at the meetings when i was a kid.
as an adult, i rarely if ever sing anymore because i think it is a joke.
sit down, listen for 45 minutes.
This thread is a compendium of many of the criticisms that have been voiced to the GB starting in the 90s. A good number of professional JW musicians have been involved in the songbook and other music projects. No one has been more critical of the Society than these individuals. The utter frustration of any constructive criticsm lies in the GB's presuming to understand how music should be used in worship. The unhappy results described in this thread are the result of micro-management by those who are not musicians and have no concept of the power of music in reaching the human heart.

comments you will not hear at the 5-25-08 wt study (march 15, 2008, pages 25-29)(view).
review comments will be in red.
quotes from other sources will be in quotes boxes.
Excellent slicing and dicing as always, Blondie.
From my experience, the net effect of an article like this is to stoke the negative feelings of those in the congregation who cry "racism" and those who feel left out of congregation cliques. This is but one example of the many ways in which the Society works against itself.
