I don't believe the promotional video above was created without thought to featuring caucasian models and having it narrated by a man with a Northern European accent. Are countries with predominantly white populations being targeted here? I would imagine most of us can think of reasons why this would be advantageous to WT, mostly monetary.

How to debunk the 1914 calculus ONLY using JW publications?
by psyco ini remember having read somewhere, but i cannot find it anymore, that it is possible to debunk the 1914 calculus using only jw publications, like "insight on the scriptures" (chronologies) for example.. do you have any sources about that to suggest to me?.
thanks..

Scholar: Your arguments are affected by faith. Faith that the Bible is God's Word and faith that the Jehovah's Witnesses are God's chosen organization. The other side relies on the abundance of records preserved from the Neo-Babylonian period. You accept and reject data and evidence so as to agree with the position taken by Jehovah's Witnesses. So long as this is the case, your scholarship will be hampered and you will not be well informed.

You and me both Dagney. I was in the orchestra. The Sunday session ended early so we had time to get home to watch Neil Armstrong walk on the moon. Snoozing through the All Star game as I write this.

Michael Jackson Jehovah's Witness Thriller
by researcher1010 ini'm a reporter working on a series about michael jackson.
part of this series will look at his life as a jehovah's witness and his relationship to the faith.
i've already spoken to a few ex-witnesses and one elder who have explained jw 101 beliefs and teachings.

Michael was associated with the East Woodland Hills (or possibly West Woodland Hills) Congregation in California. You might contact the elders there as I believe both congregations still are intact. If I can remember the elder’s name who was assigned to him, I’ll post later.

What about babies born into Witness families? Is Lett unaware of prior teachings regarding "family merit?" It was the idea that a child was protected from condemnation by virtue of its parents' dedication to god. This protection would remain in force until the child reached an age where it could make its own dedication to god. That projected age was reduced as younger and younger children were being steered toward baptism. This of course would have to stop far short of being babies since infant baptism is condemned.
This is either "new light" or Lett is on his own with this one.

Roe vs Wade Overturned by US Supreme Court!
by Simon ini know there was a leak a few weeks back, but this really does seem to have come out of the blue.. the anomaly was the original decision.
it clearly had no basis in law or the constitution, and was a flimsy, ridiculous ruling.
plus the whole thing was based on a fraudulent case in the first place.. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-61928898.

GabeAthouse:
The Southern Strategy was indeed a black mark on the reputation of the Republican Party. I would, however, like to call your attention to a greater offense committed by the Democratic Party at the time of the Civil Rights Act, namely the creation of the welfare state.
Prior to this time there was an income gap between whites and blacks, but that gap increased substantially after this time. The welfare state created continuing and increased dependence on government support among low income citizens. In the black community approximately 70% of black families had a father present before the welfare state. Since the welfare state, which incentivizes single-parent families, approximately 70% of black families are without fathers. The consequences of this have included proliferation of gangs and gang violence, lack of education and the plague of perpetual victimhood. https://www.americanexperiment.org/thomas-sowell-on-the-welfare-state/
https://www.hoover.org/research/thomas-sowell-origins-economic-disparities
In this way, political leaders of the Democratic Party exert power and control over the black community not unlike the power and control exerted by plantation owners over their slaves.
I realize this thread is about today's SCOTUS ruling and I believe the earlier comments address the issue beautifully. However I also believe that your comment warrants further response.

The judge has up to 60 days to make such determination but it has been stipulated that the return date for the parties to return to court is tomorrow, April 13th. The Court may continue (delay) this date. I'm not sure what form this hearing will take, whether oral argument will be allowed or not, whether the judge will have made a decision, etc. If the motion to dismiss is granted, the GB wins, pending any further action by Hines. If the motion is denied, in whole or in part, the case can proceed. This is a broad picture. The actual outcome remains to be seen.

it appears to me that the zalkin firm eviscerates the gb's motion.
in plaintiff's memorandum of law, it is clearly presented that the elements of hines' complaint are of the type protected by ny law against motions to dismiss.

Last Friday, Plaintiff Hines' Opposition to the above motion was filed. It appears to me that the Zalkin firm eviscerates the GB's motion. In Plaintiff's Memorandum of Law, it is clearly presented that the elements of Hines' complaint are of the type protected by NY law against motions to dismiss. The opposition also comprehensively refutes the Governing Body's contention that it is immune to being sued as put forth in their motion. You can read the opposition and supporting documents HERE.
