as i announced some time ago, jwd as it is will not continue .... ... but .... it's clear from people's comments that they do like the site and many would like it or something else like it to continue.. one issue was the forum software that was self-developed and not really in a good state to hand-over to anyone but i've been working on that and can now reveal the first release of what will probably be called jwn (son of jwd):.

it is still work-in-progress so not all features are enabled yet but it will allow you to browse the site in a similar way to this one and it is pointing at the same database (although because of the way the caching works, new posts made on this site won't appear immediately).
Simon, Thank you so much for keeping this forum alive. I didn't realize all the hard work you put into it for us. It is sooooooooo appreciated! This forum is the best medicine for those of us dealing with family that are still in this Organization. I watched this Larry King show, the part about leaving sure does work just like those born in the JW's. I too. wish the talk show's would expose more of these religious cults. At least those who open their door's to the JW knock have a right to know what their all about.

First half of my life in Illinois, second half in S.E. Texas. White. After living here for 30yrs. I do say y'all and pronounce "oil" as "all". I don't think I have too much of a Southern Accent. One thing I really respect here is, that kid's are still taught to show respect to the elder adults by saying, Yes, mam and yes, sir. It sounds very polite.

I have " absolute black" granite island and counter tops. I love it. It shines and one can see their reflection in it. We used a very good sealer on it and it cleans up so easy. It took 3, 5 x 9 ft. sheet's, to do my kitchen at a cost of $5000 well worth it . If you can find a granite bone yard and some one that can get you access you can find some left over cut's a lot cheaper. I picked cashmire gold for my bathroom from the bone yard can't remember the cost but not bad. I use my lap top here at the kitchen island and my arms stay cold on the granite, I have to wear a knit sweater.

so yes, the brothers came for "encouragement" and of course, my husband is out of town on business... so it was me and the kids.. so i did let them in, i like these brothers...these are some things we discussed.... 1. i went over how that stupid "obey" email got all this started, got me to divulge to my girlfriend how i was feeling about the whole religion.
about how at the end of the call she said that she can't associate with me anymore, and then right after that call/ 30seconds later while i'm crying a pioneer called and asked "do you consider yourself one of jeh witnesses anymore??
" and i thought that was crazy for someone to try to trap me when i was sitting crying on the phone, upset with the last call... i told them that for all purposes i am already dfed since noone will talk to me anymore, and only one friend called to see what happened, everyone else just listened to the gossip of whatever spread, and wrote me off even though i'm technically in good standing.
Good for you! I love it when one stands up to the elder's and informs them of the facts. Maybe something you said will OPEN their eye's or make them think.
