If you have the time, its very kind of you to help her out. keep a clear mind and don't fall into the JW trap again and you'll be ok.
no joke.
the sister who studied with me is older and she's been having a very hard time getting around out in service, i heard she was ill so i called her and this morning she came by my office and we started to talk, her kids have all moved away and she's lonely, going out in service is hard for her but she tries her best to get out there, she asked me if i would consider a study with her and i said yes.
i miss her terribly, she's the closest thing i've had to a grandmother and i adore her, also i'd rather she be with me indoors instead of walking around house to house when her legs give her so much trouble.

Your so right! They don't know all the WT doctrine, I swear they go to all these meetings and bible studies in a dazed state of mind, daydreaming about what they could be doing if they didn't have to be there.
My daughter (JW) wasn't even aware of the blood fragments.
There is so much I read on this forum about JW doctrine that I know they are unaware of. They just go along, following orders from headquarters. They don't study the JW history and doctrines to know of all the changes. They are drones reacting and not thinking.
I know they are unaware of the change in the organ transplant in the 1950's. I brought that up to them. I said the WT never use to allow organ transplants till the 50's, I said: " I hope they change the doctrine on blood before you or your kids need a transfusion".
They walk in the dark, keep giving their brains over to the WT to do their thinking for them. sheesh!!!

My JW son-in-law, awhile back, came in the house while we were there visiting, with lottery tickets. He said: " We can now buy Lottery tickets". My response was, oh, another changed doctrine. No comments followed.

the human brain is a non-stop chattering machine.
it is constantly evaluating, making decisions and judgments.
there is not a human being alive that isn't an abject hypocrite nearly every day.
loved it Farkel,
I watch that circus go on in my neighborhood, the car drives up, out they pop and go to their sales pitch. I close my blinds, turn down my tv and stay out of sight. Man, will they ever leave? Finally after 5 min. they leave. I still have to keep my blinds closed till they leave the neighborhood in case they back track. This should be against the law! I live in a small town, so I hate to be rude to these people. It's easier to avoid them.

my daughter was here last night, she asked if i knew about john travoltas son dying.
i said yes, her reply was... scientology wouldn't let him take medicine and thats what killed him.
i said, well actually, the news said he was taking meds but they no longer were working for him.
I really do need to order Steve Hassens book. I still have to be careful with my daughter, I try to space things out so she doesn't catch on to what I'm trying to do. I'm glad she brought the Scientology thing up instead of me.
Thanks for the encouragement everyone

Nathan, I agree with you, I tried to show my daughter that view when it was in the news about those FDLS in Texas and the women in their prararie dresses. I told her, their just another one of those cults that keep them ignorant to the outside world, are not allowed an eduation. I didn't compare them to the JWs or make any comment about the jws.
Nathan, thanks for the video, I see the similarities
I don't think it sunk in, at that time, the jws were not talking about the higher education.
Steve2, I too see where scientology has some similarities to the JWs, but as Nathan said, all cults are similar

True 007, she probably just see's me as being blind to the truth and feels sad for me....UGH!

Back in September her best friend (not jw) lost her son in an accident. My daughter said she thought her friend was so distraught because she didn't have a religious faith. She felt like she could have handled his death better if she had the faith in paradise earth. All I said at that point was... and you know what, this might be the only life we have so you better make the most of it!
There can't be a JW on this earth that truely feels they fit all the requirements ( inside sins) for paradise earth, too many restrictions on them. They all have to have doubts they'll make it through the big A. So I tried to make her THINK that, if you don't make it, you better start living this life.

My response was, well, some people would say the same thing about a Jehovah Whitness and not allowing one to have blood. She said, well, we have alternatives. I said... not in every situation.
End of conversation... I just hope I gave her a little something to THINK about. scientology looks weird to her and her WT look's weird to people in the same manner.
Funny, they can see the cult operation in other religions but not their own
