Door knocking is such a ineffective ministry. The apostles didn't go house to house. People don't like opening their doors to strangers and why would anyone trust anything a stranger has to say to them? In my case, when I spoke to the householder they were already Christian and belonged to a Christian church. THAT SHOULD BE GOOD ENOUGH! Nope. We gotta ensnare them in the clutches of the Watchtower. Besides, what exactly was the "good news" that we were sharing? That they will be destroyed at Armageddon (and their children) if they didn't become Jehovah's Witnesses? Bah! Fortunately, I didn't convert anyone. My wife and I put in TWO HOURS each month in Field Service.

Why Do So Many DF'd End In Some Sort Of Trouble?
by african GB Member inmost ex-jw's df/da that i know end up living a dangerous life.
some get into drugs, prostitution, gangsterism,etc.
as a result they prove the jw theory that says "whoever leaves jehovah's organisation won't make it" right.. it's difficult for me to say this, but it seems like jw's are partly right on this one.. why do most ex-dubs end up in a predicament of some sort?

Would you clone your child?

I would clone myself five times. One for each work day. I get to stay home. Heck, this would be a great idea if I were still a JW and send a clone to each meeting/service/assembly/convention/etc. Sweet!

their records show that when a person is suspended with their hands over their head, as they would be on the jw "torture stake," they can survive for approximately one hour.
if their feet are tied down, as well, the time is reduced to about 15 minutes.. .

by Decided inanother one of my second cousins killed himself today.
he was 42 and still a jw.
he called 911 and shot himself while talking to them.

I heard he was in love with a JW girl and said he couldn't support himself so couldn't get married and support a family.
I couldn't help wonder if this had something to do with the Watchtower's negative view on higher education?
