student (age 6-18) deaths from covid-19-involved illnesses are projected at a rate of 0.0001% as a percentage of their peers.
they died from influenza-involved illnesses at a rate of 0.0005% in 2018.. workforce (age 19-55) deaths from covid-19-involved illnesses are projected at a rate of .01% as a percentage of their peers.
they died from influenza-involved illnesses at a rate of .007% in 2018.. retired (age 66-77) deaths from covid-19-involved illnesses are projected at a rate of 1% as a percentage of their peers.
No it wasn't based upon what was happening in places like Wuhan China and Italy to name a couple.
There could have been a situation of governments making it law for everyone to wear a mask when doing things from out their homes, but the fact is the virus can transgress through masks by aerosol transmission into people eyes, this is why there were over 60 doctors in Italy who died from treating people with the virus. The original doctor in Wuhan who was trying to alert the Chinese government died and he was wearing a mask treating patients.
The decision to shut down was calculated by these factual effects relating to transmission.
so we binge-watched the waco mini-series on netflix.. wow, what a powerful and enlightening programme!
even if you think you know what happened, it gives you extra context to it all.
it's very well done even if you just want a great drama series, but it's way more than that.. there are of course some dramatization and slight historical inaccuracies for the purpose of story-telling but it was very informative.
It was shame that those innocent woman children were killed in that event but the good thing about this tragedy was David Koresh was killed , he proclaimed that he was chosen by god and therefore had god's holy spirit running through him, (how many times do you hear that ?) so he self empowered himself and took psychological and behavioral control over his followers, which inevitability led to their deaths.
The other good thing is the ATF and FBI after this event have changed their procedures and protocols in occurring situations like this.
when they come to your door knocking... the best way to preach back is.... handing them a comic book when they hand you a watchtower magazine..
Answer = quote Jesus from the bible and tell them "The Truth" that they are preaching a tainted commercialized version of Jesus's gospel new order (sinning apostasy) by supporting the men who run and operate the Watchtower Corporation/JWorg.
This has been a lying and corrupt religoius publishing house and it still is pretty much to this day.

The fact remains that these shut downs have directly reduced the number of deaths and cases of Covid-19. If they weren't installed the number would have grown exponentially.
Governments had the choice of letting this happen or letting the economies falter and it will for awhile to be sure.
Here is a link to the recent reports to the virus world wide .......

Going back to what Simon said, how is the healthcare system ie. medical doctors and hospitals, cashing in when most of these institutions with their workers are shut down ?
The health care insurance companies both private and government run like in Canada and England are doing well because the number of people being treated has dramatically dropped since the shut down.
The only ones who are really cashing in this pandemic are the manufacturers of PPE devises.

Seems to be a lot speculation and play down by people to the low number of deaths in opposition to the shut down tactics by governments, but would be spoken if the governments didn't shut down the social interaction of populations to how they did given the easily transference of the virus ?
I've heard some people say well the old are going to die eventually so let them, by people who are not of that age group of course.

Lets think in practical terms and realize that if these shut down procedures were not issued there would a lot more deaths that would have occurred, maybe even you or someone you loved ie. family member.
Then what would say and question to your local governments to why they didn't shut things down ?
Its easy to criticize if you missed the virus and the potential lethal consequences.

Should we close the national school system for a disease with a projected .0001% student fatality rate when we left it open for a different disease with about five times that rate (i.e. the 2018 flu season)?
The problem with schools opening is that there are also a high number of adults who work in schools as well parents involved., there is the possibility of transference by children to adults to be considered.
This whole subject of shut down not only has to do with who will get the virus to their effect but who will transfer over the virus to others, which can be a real deadly game to play around with.
Shut downs are starting to be removed with precautionary measures thankfully.
The other concerns at hand will be the financial cost to small businesses and unemployment, not to mention the blooming tax bill which is going up and up.
a thesis: the discursive construction of freedom in the watchtower society.
https://ris.cdu.edu.au/ws/portalfiles/portal/24632569/thesis_cdu_24577264_chester_h.pdf .
be aware, this thesis, although supremely stimulating, thought-provoking, fascinating, attention-grabbing, remarkable, noteworthy, and appealing, the author made use of out of the ordinary, worthy of note, and fascinating words and statements that, for the reader of average intelligence (like me), make for laborious reading.
Its a good studied analysis of how the JWS religion works, its operative structure as a collective human endeavor .
Make no mistake about it the leaders of the WTSJWS thought carefully how to lure people to the literature the organization published and to the organization's own operative core as a religoius publishing house for their own appealing desire and sustenance.
