  i wanted to introduce myself.

  i am a jew, not ex jw.

  as a practicing jew its sad to see hebrew scriptures, distorted and used by non-hebrew people hijacking my bible (jw), then used to justify their pedophile actions.

  Pulled out of school when she came out. Suffering the the shame of being rejected by her whole Jw community. Her father was demoted in whatever upper roll as a Jw that he had, and she was eventually booted from her house.

  Man that's just plain sick.
  

  I hope you give her the love and support she deserves and needs which wasn't given to her by her JWS parents.

  Religions that were established 3000 years ago aren't going to be up to date to modem known acceptance of human sexuality in view of human rights.

  I had a gay brother who was extremely ostracized being a JWS in a JWS family.

  I can see what your daughter could possibly go through.
  

  If you were born a homosexual being in the JWS religion in a JWS family that's really a bad place to be.

  im new to this forum, i dont know where else to post my story, sorry if im wrong for posting this on this subject.

  as i begin to wake up from being in the org i thought id introduce myself to this forum with how i was raised in the org..., ive been beginning to look at everyones stories from being raised as one and how they left, and i find comfort in knowing im not alone, so maybe another young person like me will find the same comfort reading my story.

  as you can tell by my username, i am posting this on an anonymous account because of fear of what the elders would do to me and my parents if they found out who i was.

  Anon if you do get in a really bad state such as thoughts of suicide, there are help centers that you call for help explaining your story to these people, they usually have degrees in human psychology and they are helpful .
  

  Things that may help when you are in a rut, is go for long walk perhaps get a dog to accompany you or make for a reason for you to go for walk.

  Exercise and fresh air are good for the body, mind and soul.

  Welcome to the forum Anon
  

  Your story is not unusual with people /children brought up in this particular religious cult.

  Child abuse came in many different forms not just physical abuse and as its now known sexaul abuse too.
  

  Sorry to hear about your personal dilemma, many such as myself who were brought up in the JWS cult can sympathize with what your going through.

  So coming here and telling your story will help you progress to eventually live a happy wholesome and enjoyable life.
  

  My advise is just do what your doing and when you are prepared to leave you will be on solid foundational footing.

  Leaving quietly away from your still in family is the best route to take.
  

  I left saying nothing apposing to the faith to my still active family and it pretty much has worked out well, not the most close engaging relationship to be sure but better than nothing.

  i would think that exjws would exercise more critical thinking than not.

  now we are thrust in this “ world” and take sides on social issues and politics.. just because our government leaders say something it doesn’t mean it’s right.

  just because the majority of the news media tells us how we should think, it doesn’t mean we have to follow.

  What religious cults do is indoctrinate people with formulated ideas that seem so appealing to the listener that posing questionable scrutiny to these ideas are willing cast aside or repelled. Support those ideas with fear and ignorance and you have a highly controlling religious cult with devoted and subservient followers.
  

  For example the JWS religion promises immorality and redemption from sin, with the addition of living in a soon to come earthly paradise.

  Sounds pretty good doesn't it from a emotional and ideological perspective ?
  

  Then it is said that people who reject this propagation are deemed evil and rebellious against god's will and purpose.

  On the Jehovah’s Witness side of things, the failure of the JW theology to produce the End of History through tidal waves of witnessing about failed dates (set by the “mouthpiece” of God) created dissonances which had to be resolved!

  The theology was right if it produced power, control and money.
  

  If the theology started to look inaccurate or problematic then what was needed was a revision of the previously stated theology, like it was lovingly provided (food at the proper time) new ordained spiritual light.

  The power, control and money was retained and forthcoming.

  Herd mentality can be a dangerous thing to happen, its what created the JWS cult and other known cults.
  

  Thinking about what is being said or taught by established positioned leaders with open minded scrutiny is necessary for the overall benefit of the population to which these leaders have power and control over.

  There has to be a created balance from different perspectives to make the best appealing decision.

  The real key to making this work fluently is drawing information from all sources not singularly from one which may be composed with a structured and supportive bias.

  The Cry of Peace And Security

  this was prompted by trump using the term peace and security a few times in 2017 and 2018, and the excitement this generated amongst jehovah's witnesses.

  Peace and Security is not a modern phrase.

  This has been proclaimed often going back to biblical times and forward up to are own modern times, documented in history.
  

  For example when Cyrus conquered Nebuchadnezzar overtaking Babylon in 539 BCE. he proclaimed peace and security to all enslaved inhabitants, such as the Israelites.

  Nations who have fought and eventually drew up a peace plan between the imposing nations proclaiming peace have occurred many times throughout human history.

  police shouldn't have police - free zones.. the left is taking some risks here....russian revolution implemented more than a hundred years ago the so called soviets or "councils of workmen's and soldier's deputies".

  what are they gonna do when 'autonomous zones ' pop elsewhere?.

  I think the protests should have been about human rights matter /HRM rather than BLM.

  Protests toward police brutality against private citizens, who they are supposed to serve and protect.
  

  If George Floyd was a white man, would there be protests like what we've seen in the last few weeks ?

  Aren`t These Two Scriptures At Odds With Each Other ?

  romans 13 ,1-7 contrast with 2 cor.4 : 3-6 ,on the one hand the faithful are to be obedient to the superior authorities ,worldly government ,law enforcement ,etc, as its gods arrangement and to go against it is to go against god ?.

  then 2 cor .4 : 3-6 states that the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one satan the devil and if you are obedient to that you are supporting satan`s system of things and going against gods arrangement ?.

  what sort of mental gymnastics do you need to acquire to accept both of these scriptures and keep your sanity ?.

  The bible is full of delusional mythology which can seem contravening at times.

  JoenB75 pointed out the interpretation of the JWS, which is contravening in itself.

  Jesus said that he was not part of the this world but he didn't say that his true followers were not to be involved in governments or politics.

  Removing Historic Monuments and Statues - Does the Term "Historical" Make it Right or Wrong?

  after further review and thought, i really don't see how removing a monument or statue that may be truly offensive to a large group of people is in some way rewriting history.. i think of germany or other parts of europe.

  you don't see swastikas on buildings or statues of hitler or mussolini or other upper level generals in public.

  would it be good for a person (think jewish) to drive around a city and see hitler in a public park, even though it is "historical?

  To me a statue is just a symbol or reflection of history, what is happening today in are lives is what people should be more focused about.
