  Stupid Knorr! Should Witnesses have Sunday school just for kids?

  imagine sitting thru the watchtower study on a sunday with your 6 year old and 9 year old kids....the topic "fornication" the discussion explains how oral sex and touching of genitals is still fornication...why do kids have to sit thru this??

  or the bible reading is about lot having sex with his daughters....this type of thing is not for kids!

  and why should kids be forced to sit quietly while someone drones on for 2 hours?.

  Makes sense to have some topics reserved for an older audience. Children shouldn't have to sit through some of those more adult discussions at the hall.

  Why does guilt often remain so long with those who've left the JWs?

  i would be interested in getting people's input in why so many jws - including me from time to time, though less so now - seem to be burdened by guilt after they've left, even after they've successfully faded and aren't being hassled by family or elders.

  is it a residual leftover of the indoctrination over the years?

  i remember the jw view of martial arts being cemented in my head when i asked my mother at the age of 6 if i could take karate.

  the look of horror on her face.

  she told me it was violent and jws could not practice violence.

  "attempted suicide"... meaning..?

  i see this expression being used frequently and i think it would be helpful to parse the possible meaning by the person using it.

  because it has such a huge range of possible impressions that could be taken by the reader.

  just to illustrate, i will place myself in the #1 category below of person who might use the expression "attempted suicide".. a.

  Life is beautiful, precious, and sacred. When I was younger my brother and I walked in to my parents room only to see our mother half way out the window in our 11th floor apartment. She turned around and came back in when she saw us. The world stood still that moment. I almost lost the central most important person in my life that evening. After that moment there were times when she tried over dosing on medication. After she divorced my father and was dis-fellowshipped, she had many moments where she threatened my brother and I with killing herself. Now she looks back and apologizes for those unjustifiable moments of self hate. Life was stressful back then for her, losing all her fake friends from the witless, losing her marriage, losing a close relationship with her family, almost losing child custody of us. It was a struggle for us all. In those days I was a little boy, so I couldn't do much, now things are different.

  in a recent post, journey-on had some very very interesting observations.

  i am taking them a little deeper.. journey on said:i think they will go sort of mainstream if they see the slow leak has turned into a full blown rupture....but it will happen gradually and over time.

  it is very apparent that you have given this a lot of deep thought.

  this is referenced in the pay attention elders' book "the wedding vows that were puhlished in the april 15, 1984, issue of the watchtower, page 14, and that appear in the marriage outline, s-41, should be used.
