Then he's just a troll. Actually, since we don't know the troll's gender, he's an it. Or do we know it's gender? For some reason I'm reminded of a Simpson's character and naturally and quite arrogantly assign him the title of "he"....

Seems to me a bit of a mirror...
by gubberningbody ingod creates man in his image, man imagines god to be the best version of him or her self.. does either have any possibility?.
if all our thoughts about god are limited, and i think most jw's would somberly nod their heads to that, then wouldn't it likewise be true to say that you can evaluate the contrapositive of the same and conclude that the god that made us, if the case is such is rather limited as well?.

Right, plants commit to photosynthesis, as a result of the sun's light. Yes the sun has been here as long as people have been able to use it to see. It's probably not going anywhere. Without it we die, with it we live. Doesn't take much genius to realize it's the source of life.

All about Shelby
by watersprout ini wanted to post this thread about shelby.. she get's a lot of grief by what she posts on this site, so i thought i would start a post on how shelby has helped ones that have left the borg.. i can't begin to explain how shelby has helped me, i felt like i was in a hole and she gave me answers to the many questions i had.
no matter how many emails i bombarded her with, she always took the time to answer.
yes there has been times when i haven't liked what she posted, but i asked christ to help me understand and he did...... shelby helped me to open my mind and come to the realisation that the borg can no longer stop me from becoming the beautiful person i was destined to become.. i think i speak for many when i say thank you shelby!!!!.

Ok, first, let me point out a little bit of selfishness here...
Lots of people do things that "make them happy" regardless of what others think. Some of those things are quite destructive though. You started a thread, in honor of someone else, whom at this point I can only fathom as a Ford Mustang. You thanked "Jesus" in the post, and you commended your friend as well.
All I ask from anyone is that they keep their religious feelings to themselves. You are free to believe whatever you like, but remember that you started a public thread and you dictated what kind of responses you wanted, etc. You cannot have the cake and eat it too. Either allow me to speak my freedoms as well as yours, or don't. I'm voicing my opinion, which I have a right to, and you're voicing yours. You choose a book character to give thanks to, and I do not. It's that simple.
Two things that I no longer bring up at dinner with the family are politics and religion. I feel that both should be kept to one's self if one cares for either of the two.
Personally, I don't care for either.

Very uplifting post, but how about this... Instead of asking Christ to help you, why don't you help you?
Be strong in your own decision making. Be confident in yourself. Rise to the occasion and be courageous enough in your self to be able to speak for yourself, stand up for yourself, and live your own life and make your own decisions without the invisible boogie man.
Whenever you "will" something to happen and it does happen, that's all you baby. Not some fictional ancient book character.
Awaken to reality and thank Shelby for what Shelby did without giving any credit to invisible fictional book characters.

I always laughed at the WTS sources for information.
Wasn't the steam locomotive some sort of prophetic nightmare?

Bane, the bible character Jesus was only calling Pharisaic men vipers. He never referred to any sinful people as such. In fact, if anything, the biblical Jesus was more geared towards freeing those oppressed by religious leaders. You're surrounded on this forum by many who are no longer oppressed by religious power. The biblical Jesus forgave an adulterating whore that was about to be stoned to death, remember? Under the Pharisaic law, she was to be stoned according to Jesus' father's wishes. The very people that Jesus referred to as vipers were only trying to follow strict legalistic code. That's exactly what you and every other Jehovah's Witness does.
Mat 9:13 Go and learn what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.' For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners."
If anything, JW's should be constantly knocking on doors in drug neighborhoods, ghettos, and jails. They need not bother those of us with well established bank accounts, faithful wives and paid mortgages.

The entire idea of a creator being "man-like" is man-made. Only man would write such a mythological concept. In the case of the bible, the Moses/Menos figure (depending on which Mediterranean tale you believe) took some Egyptian concepts with him when he escaped captivity. Many of the past's mountain men have come down with varying laws and codes, and many tales from which have been created.
The creator though as we all know, can be seen, and is seen every day. It's photosynthesis gives us lots of vitamin D, and lots of light. As to who created it? No one. It's always been there, and always will be. If we have to attribute human personality to the sun, we can at least admit he's a nice guy with a smile.

Hi Tec,
I'd like to publicly ask you about a few things. I notice in a lot of your posts you talk about your "faith".
Can you define exactly what "faith" is though? In my studies over the years, I came to the conclusion that "faith" is really another word for "belief in something that cannot be proved".
Would that also be your definition?
Just curious.

I'm here to attempt to help as many people as I can free themselves from ALL religion, and awaken to their own god-given gifts of free thought, so that they too may always question authority and think for themselves.
The United States will become a much better country if we can get these ancient superstitions and myths OUT of our government documents completely and out of people's minds so we can finally progress and realize that we already have the gift of eternal life through humble progeny.
I long for the day when no more TV personalities and pastors are asking for people's money for their selfish goals.

Yes, this is one of those verses that has to be twisted by both JW's and all Christian believers of any church. The message is actually derived from ancient Roman Mithraism. Many of the biblical accounts are stories taken from other dying/resurrected agricultural solar deities. A prime example is John 6:53-57 taken directly from Mithraic worship. It was always customary to eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Mithras to become "one" with him.
In this case, "do not think I came to bring peace" literally means that he is there to bring division and strife and pain to families worldwide, and that is exactly what he did. He didn't come as the prophet Malachi foretold.... that much is certain!
Mal 4:5 "Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes.
Mal 4:6 And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the land with a decree of utter destruction."
Most Christians are unaware of the damage that the Mithraic and Dionysian influence had on the bible writers. They are also unaware that the bible gospels are third and fourth hand documents, no one knows who wrote them, no one knows when.
