I will admit that I am confused by what you are trying to say with your post. To start:

Anything can be said to be true if we focus on what we don't know. Just insert your own explanation and continue to walk around blindly. Let us focus on what we know to be true and the answers will make themselves known. 1 + 1 = 2.

This is not correct. Focusing on what we dont know does not allow us to label something as true. We can label something as true based on forming a hypothesis around a fact, and then testing the hypothesis. From the results of these tests, we can then determine something to be true. It is focusing on what we can determine that can cause us to reasonably determine that something is true. You do not insert an explanation and then walk around blindly. You come up with a hypothesis and test it. Based on the results you either refine the hypothesis, accept it, or you move on.

Does anyone here get flu shots? Is one flu shot enough? Why not? Who is scared of the bird flu?

I dont get flu shots. One flu shot may be enough, or none, or more. It depends on your immune system, age and other factors. I am not scared or worried about the bird flu. Bird flu itself is not that scary to humans. It is a mutated bird flu virus, in an animal like a pig that harbors flu virus' without getting sick, that swaps genes with a human flu virus that creates a human flu virus with bird flu characteristics that is scary. That is the truth about the flu, and that comes from focusing on what we know.

Where did we come from? Nature speaks to us, we only have to listen. DNA has a voice of its own.

Is the Bible from God or is it ancient Hebrew mythology? If we perform proper exegesis the Bible tells us.

These two sentences together are contradictory. Nature does speak to us, and it tells us something different regarding our origins then the bible tells us. So which do you listen to?

Let us not make our own conclusions. We only have to listen.

We should make conclusions based on evidence, not what we "listen" to. Humans have a very poor track record of hearing anything but that which that want to...

I personally have been talking about this for years. There is a great article that has been available on the internet since 2003, right before the US invaded Iraq. You read it just by Googling "the real reason for the iraq war."

It talks about the real reason that the United States was going to invade Iraq, and that it all boiled down to countries using dollars to trade their oil with, as opposed to Euros. It is the single biggest threat to the United States economy, and Saddam Hussein knew this. On the night that Bush was confirmed as President, back in 2000, he converted his oil reserves from dollars to euros, setting the series of events in motion that has led up to today. Getting Iraq to switch back, and kicking the living crap out of him for switching and putting him on the end of a rope, is exactly why we are there.

You can learn alot more about this simply by googling PetroDollar Warfare, or looking it up in Wikipedia. Warning: Prepare to lose the next several hours as your understanding of our economy, and how important the size of our economy is to the United States, takes on a whole new light.

Another example is Iran. You can learn alot about this very subject by looking at the correlations between Iran trying to start their own oil exchange to trade oil in non-dollar currencies, and the United States putting pressure on Iran in regards to their nuclear ambitions.

Interesting stuff...but what is really interesting is that by now our economy would probably be far worse had we not invaded Iraq.

While I can see where you are coming from, I couldnt disagree with you more. And I dont mean that confrontationally, I am just being direct...

I used to be an absolute hardcore creationist, writing college paper after college paper, and engaging in debate after debate with "evolutionist idiots". Now I do realize that Natural Selection is the best explanation for the biodeversity we see on this planet.

It is nothing to do with smarts, and it has nothing to do with faith. Honestly, it is a pretty simple straight forward concept/theory. The issues that people have with it tend to come from general misunderstandings of what the scientific method really is, and what the theory itself is actually about. Once I saw that I was really arguing against this concept using lies given to me by individuals who either had been duped themselves or had a vested interest in me believing these lies, I opened my mind to it. After that, the obviousness of it was just plain as day.

Really, it is no different then what we all say about the JW org. Once we opened our mind to the idea of thinking about the organization from a critical point of view, we all saw so clearly how absolutely screwed up it is. If you can relate to that kind of mental transition, that is similar to what happened with me regarding Natural Selection and Evolution. Just like you surely wouldnt accept the idea that there is proof on both sides of the coin regarding wether the WTBS is Gods channel on Earth, that is why proponents of Natural Selection reject the notion that Evolution is a matter of faith. It is no more a matter of faith then your believing that the Jehovahs Witnesses are the one true religion.

i got so pissed off yesterday after this phone conversation...he's such a sweet man, but very much under the control of the watchtower.

we both agreed that we missed each other and would love nothing more than to be able to do some stuff together and have a relationship, but he said, "that's all up to you.

well if that's the case, let's plan a trip or something in the next couple of weeks.

jws say they are clean and pure and undefiled and not like the world but in reality there are those that do very evil things and they either have fallen through the cracks, have gotten disciplined or disfellowshipped.. we realize that just because a person says they are a christian, it doesn't mean they will always act like one.. regarding pedophiles, do you believe that jws have a huge problem involving an infestation of pedos?

These people infect every corner of humanity. But it is JW arrogance that causes them to think that they are above it. And it is typical that in thought control groups the individuals will try to hide or pretend that the very thing that they think they are above does not happen...it is just ironic.
