4 the Faders. How did u get out leading the cong in prayer while fading?
by blkblk13 ini've always had serious doubts but now that i am @ a point in my life were my parents have helped me to purchase my first place and now that i am no longer under their wing i feel like i am in a position to start doing something about it.
nothing drastic but just the beginnings of a gradual fade b/c i don't want to humiliate them in the circuit b/c they r very well-known and admired in the circuit, plus i owe them alot and am still a little financially dependent on them.
so my dad is an elder and conducts the bookstudy.

So my dad is an elder and conducts the bookstudy. I always manage to come late enough to not have to read and I don't comment often but now he's been having me close w/ prayer almost everytime, I think in order to force some sort of participation. Since I have such stong conflicts regarding the religion inside of me I just don't feel right doing it. But I really don't think I could possibly flat-out say no when asked to say the prayer. Did anyone else find themselves in this position while attempting 2 fade?

Russell and the illuminati
by raindog ini recently came across some articles that show a link to the illuminati, rothchilds, and charles russell.
is there any truth to this story?
i am sure he has a connection to the masons but how far does it go?

Do people seriously believe in the Illuminati? I mean I read a book about them but it was fiction. I can never figure out if people take it actually believe in it or not. It seems like something that is so unprovable. The only evidence is usually heresay or secret meeting of powerful men. idk it's weird.

lol. yeah I def try to be skeptical online since the advent of wiki but I did tell my mom about the book study and she asked my Dad who is an elder and he said no and if there were 2 be a change like that there would have been some sort of elder's meeeting preceding it. So, I hope the info is right. that would be cool but I posed it more as a rumor/question than an def announcement so I still have some wiggle room in case it's not accurate.

Looking through these topics I have stumbled across several conspiracy theories and mentions of BIG changes happenings. I find it all to be rather exciting and titillating and I am axiously looking forward to the annoucement this Sun supposedly regarding the change in the Book Study arrangement. But I do wonder, is this a recurring theme on this site of predictions and anticiaptions? Do these normally prove to be right or does it usually turn out 2 b baseless rumors? Has anyone in the Forums predicted something of significance that actually came 2 pass? I only ask b/c I hate getting worked up over things that turn out 2 b nothing.

A priest can forgive your sins....BUT.....
by oompa ina high school custodian, an insurance salesman, and a mailman can tell you "no your sins are not forgiven, because we don't even believe you are really sorry.
sure you have said it over and over and cried, and appealed our decision that you are not really sorry, however not only us, but a window-washer, an old retired man who falls asleep a lot, and and shaklee master distributor agree with us!
you already had that one prior when you tenderly kissed sister jessicas left nipple ever so tenderly......so you are outta here!".....................oompa.

I don't think that the Elders claim to have the power to forgive or not forgive sins. It's more of a matter of issuing or not issuing punishment. Only God can 4give sins and that pretty much the JW's stance on it.
As most people who r regs on this site can c I am new here but have been "lurking" 4 a couple of days b/f I decided 2 post and I've noticed that there is this constant criticism of witnesses for not being educated or having lowly, manual labor jobs. And this may need 2 b an entirely seperate post but why the criticism? Many of Gods servants in the bible did not have a history of education or coming from high positions of power or wealth. Isn't that the message the Jesus gave us. To keep our eyes simple. When the young rich guy wanted to know how to b/c one of his followers he told him to get rid of his eartly possessions and follow him. The Disciples were fisherman that's not spectacular. On one hand witnesses r derided for being poor and uneducated but what does that have 2 do w/ being able to shepard the flock? What could college teach about that anyway? Besides alot of people on this site claim to have had their opportunities for higher education stripped away from them due to the society's restrictions and condemnation of this but now these same people claim that w/out a college education they have managed 2 glean things from the bible that the GB couldn't and they know more than the organization entirely. All this was somehow acheived while only using their personal knowledge and non-college traing thinking abilities. Isn't that contradictory? How can u look down on these "poor uneducated" men for being in positions of responsibility and, according to some on this site, not being qualified 4 them since they r just "window washers" w/ merely HS educations but @ the same time w/out any different set of qualifications you can criticize them? As someone still on the inside considering the possiblity of finding my way out I find this so strange.

Hi jwfacts
I don't necessarily subscribe to the idea that just b/c there has been a change that something is wrong. I mean if that logic was used than the whole bible would have to be thrown in the trash. I've read people one this site say that if we tried to preach the things today that were preached a few years ago than we would be called apostates. But how is that different from anything in the bible? The Isrealites could have multiple wives @ one point but generations earlier and generations later that would be a stoneable offense. Incest a stoneable offense but but Abram and Sarah r half bro and Sis and didn't Lots daughters get him drunk and have sex w/ him so that the could have children?(Maybe it wasn't Lot) Shouldn't he have killed them? (Maybe it wasn't Lot) Anyway none of this back in forth changed the fact the Israelites were God's chosen people and it was the true religion @ that time. I'm more concerned w/ the mind control tatics of the Society and real blatant falacies that would show the Society is currently teaching wrong things.

So, JCanon is someone who believes Michael and Jesus r the same. My mother does as well and she used Hebrews 1:13-14 as proof that Jesus does have a invisible presence b/c God told him to sit @ his right hand and WAIT untill his enemies r placed as bla bla bla. So she feels this is evidence that Jesus is in a position of power @ Gods right hand and waiting, which is the invisible presence. This made since last night. I guess I still believe it, but for my own reasons Im looking 4 a way out and am hoping I can find a doctrinal/biblical reason that is irrefutable but since the bible can be interpreted in so many ways I don't think I'll ever be able 2.

Mentions Michael helping Jesus out of his tomb. I looked up that scripture didn't find anything that talked about that. Does anyone know the actuall scripture she was talking about? Im am using the NWTS so maybe it's diff in my bible? I tried to have a discussion w/ my mom about the change in the generations doctrine tonight but she had me leaving believin that the Society is right. Im kinda of at a crossroads here so something that shows for sure in the bible that Michael and Jesus r seperate would be earthsaking 4 me. If anyone could supply the scripture I'd b much obliged. thanx.
