Im confused by this talk of the Org hemoraging funds or whatever. On one hand reports have come out as recently as last year that the WTBTS is a billion $ company. I know they have settled out of court a few times but usually when someone settles it's only for a few million. Nothing 2 break the bank when u have access to over a billion. Is there something Im missing? Even if that billion $ figure is networth including real estate holdings we know that could be easily liquidated espec in NY. Where does this idea that the Society is in dire financial straits come from?

What if they are about to "close the ark door"?
by Mickey mouse inwe know the book study is about to be cut.
i am reading talk here of the preaching work being declared "over" and possible changes in disfellowshipping policy.. we know the wbts is running low on funds.
they don't make money from the literature and the new recruits are going straight back out of the revolving door.

Your most memorable Kingdom Hall meeting disruptions!
by easyreader1970 ini remember about twenty years ago some teenagers were caught fornicating in one of the additional schools.
the schools were downstairs, essentially separated from the rest of the kh.
they weren't just happened upon, though.

And there was this one family who had this old station wagon that was really broke down and beat up. Everything was falling apart and the brakelights didn't work so they had these to red lights connected to the top it was just a mess. But our KH was on top of a hill and there was a drop off on two sides of the parking lot and it was surrounded by a chainlink fence. One of the dropoffs there was a street below on the other drop off there was someone's backyard w/ a pool. The family came to the Kingdom hall and he was parking and when he went to stop the brakes went out and he kept going (this was the drop off w/ the pool below but it was winter so it was empty, and we're talking about easily 30 feet straight down) and he took out the concrete parking curb thing and went through the fence and was basically tettering on the edge. they had to climb out back through the trunk of the station wagon to get out. lol.

Oh, I haven't thought about this one in a long time but I was like 5 and my mom had served spaghetti for dinner b/f the meeting and Ive always had eyes bigger than my stomach and I asked for seconds (the sin of gluttony committed early my life, soon to be followed by many others lol). So when we get to the KH it was theocratic ministry school and I was feeling really sick but I was taught 2 be a very well-behaved exemplarary boy and I didn't say anything. Anyway, I threw up spaghetti all over the kingdom hall floor in my row. It was particularly foul b/c my dad has a fondness for putting ketchup in spaghetti so the smell meat and pasta and tomato sauce and ketchup was awful. The family in front of us all immediately moved except for the father who was an unbeliever. I do remember my mom taking me into the sisters bathroom which was the first time I had ever been in there since infancy. I thought that was cool cuz the colors were all pink and it didn't smell like urinal cakes. lol.

I remember this one time after the meeting had ended everyone was hanging around and talking, in the old days @ our hall everyone used to stay afterwards for a really long time till we arranged 2 meet up @ Applebys lol, anyway it was after the meeting there was this blind sister who had been in the truth for a while and afterwards she would be left sitting in her seat and people would always go up and sit by her and talk 2 her. This elder was talking 2 her and I guess he was asking about her family and if any were in the "truth". She stands up and screams @ the top of her lungs and I mean red-faced vein popping SCREAMING! "I DON'T HAVE ANY FAMILY IN THE TRUTH O.K. SO STOP ASKING ME BECAUSE I DONT HAVE FAMILY IN THE TRUTH" and then she sat down. The elder asked her why she screamed and she very frustratedly said "Im just tired of people asking me." The hall was silent. She was blind but I knew she could feel all eyes on her. lol. I felt bad 4 her. Especially when the whispering started b/c w/ the heightned hearing of a blind person Im sure could hear every word and recognize every voice. The elder's wife was standing next 2 me and she said under her brearth "That crazy..." I didn't really hear what the crazy was followed by but Im sure it wasn't complimentary. But the blind sister was immediatly ushered into the little elders room. I was sooo happy that we weren't assigned to give her a ride home that night. lol. Talk about akward for whatever family had to do it.

How "Bible Prophecy" Will Soon Be Disproven!
by metatron init's very simple: all this 'prophetic' ( or pathetic) nonsense about "anglo-america" is going to come to an end in a few years.. china has already become the world's biggest exporter:.
http://www.manufacturingnews.com/news/06/0905/art1.html.
in ten years, they will become the largest economy - with the biggest population.

I don't really buy this whole Chinese world dominence theory. I believe they will be a major player in the world market in the future but people seem to forget that just b/c china has more billionares doesn't change the fact that the vast majority of it's population is living in poverty. Also, they suffer from the worst environmental issues w/ water pollution loss of wildlife, famines, on and on. Not to mention rapidly aging population demographics due to high rates of female infant murders resulting in an increasingly warped male vs female ratio. And they are an export driven country that caters to Europe and the U.S. The U.S. has the largest middle class in the world. If the U.S. goes down then China goes down. There is not a country on the face of the planet that can replace America's spending power which China is hugely dependent on. Plus they've been trying to keep the value of their currency down but they are inevitably, w/ such rapid growth, now facing Inflation issues. Also they have been trying to control the infulx of new information via the internet but that is proving difficult. No Communist goverment has been able to last w/ out eventually being toppled by a democracy craving populace. China will find themselves going through government upheaval soon enough which will further temper their chances for world domination. They are going to big big on the scene but America will still be King for many years to come.

4 the Faders. How did u get out leading the cong in prayer while fading?
by blkblk13 ini've always had serious doubts but now that i am @ a point in my life were my parents have helped me to purchase my first place and now that i am no longer under their wing i feel like i am in a position to start doing something about it.
nothing drastic but just the beginnings of a gradual fade b/c i don't want to humiliate them in the circuit b/c they r very well-known and admired in the circuit, plus i owe them alot and am still a little financially dependent on them.
so my dad is an elder and conducts the bookstudy.

A priest can forgive your sins....BUT.....
by oompa ina high school custodian, an insurance salesman, and a mailman can tell you "no your sins are not forgiven, because we don't even believe you are really sorry.
sure you have said it over and over and cried, and appealed our decision that you are not really sorry, however not only us, but a window-washer, an old retired man who falls asleep a lot, and and shaklee master distributor agree with us!
you already had that one prior when you tenderly kissed sister jessicas left nipple ever so tenderly......so you are outta here!".....................oompa.

Yes education has EVERYTHING to do with sheparding the flock. What if a person hears voices, or seeks help for what they perceive is demon attack? Most JW's would tell them to read the bible, whereas an EDUCATED priest would suggest they go seek help through a doctor. In most cases the educated decision is the most accurate. Or, how can a person who is uneducated, works his ass off cleaning toilets, council someone on material possessions? What if the person who seems to have nice things actually makes more money, or simply maintains what they have? How about a pedophilia case? Do we seek professional counsel for the victim, or do we only give spiritual advice? I can guarantee you that 99.9% of priests, who are required to attend higher education, would offer spiritual help, but also suggest real world help.
I am starting to realize that u r approaching this from a standpoint of witnesses being uninteligent. U r confusing inteligence w/ education. Why would a person who is uneducated/cleaning toilets automatically be disqualified from counseling someone on material possesions? If that's the case most of the counsel to the congregations given by the apostles in the bible should be disregarded b/c they lacked wealth or secular education. U dont have to go to college 2 be intelligent or to have adequate reasoning abilities and conversly going to college doesn't automatically instill those qualities. My congregation has many college educated elders and members of the congregation. Where I live going to college isn't severly looked down on but I can guarantee u that in the situations u mentioned the college educated elders would be just as unlikely to advise outside help as the poor uneducated ones. God gave us all brains and we don't need college 2 know how 2 use them. My grandparents didn't have the opportunity to go to college and they have plenty of wisdom and can see through BS better than any psychologist. It's just of matter of common sense sometimes. I agree that the Org has the whole judicial thing wrong but this idea that where a man went to school and how much money he has earned in his lifetime is what determines whether he can help or whether he can lead or whether he can shepard goes against everything the Apostles, Jesus, and the entire Bible teaches.

It's obvious from your post, ie grammar, that you may have indeed self fulfilled that prophecy... With all seriousness, criticizing JW's is justified. They make fun of the "World" for its quest of knowledge. They despise those for pursuing such things. Yet, this inner jealousy is a mear reflection of their own inner disatisfaction and impotence. So yes, how can an under educated man or woman, condemn me for the mistakes that I have made in life, when they can't even adequately live their own? Oh, and the "uneducated" Jesus arguement doesn't wash. Why? Because he should have known ALL things being the Son of God, and was therefore the most educated man on the planet...
Nothing in my post even alluded to Jesus not be educated I referred to the disciples not being educated and that Jesus advised us to not chase after wealth. The point of what I wrote was that education or financial success have nothing do w/ one's ability to shepard the flock. Maybe, it's an important part of discerning the accuracy of bible "truths" being presented by the society but if u have done something wrong that is plainly against what is in the bible it doesn't take someone w/ a doctorate to realize that or call u out 4 it. But I guess ur comprehension abilities r on the same level as my grammatical skills...:P

Maybe each year squeeze another meeting out of your busy schedule til you are down to just the Sunday meeting. Your work is a good excuse to use. A lot of people use that excuse.
I''ve tried that but that just results in my parents stopping by my house more often checking up on me after the meetings since they only live like 5 minutes away. Since Im only 22 I'm trying to enjoy some of the "benefits" of a bachelor pad so I reeeaaally don't want my rents to stop by more often. Plus my Mom has a key and she's not afraid 2 use it. lol. I just wanna be a good little boy in their eyes and have my life on the side but avoid getting to involved in everything.
