On another hunch, I recently messaged someone who was from Florida and I wondered if she knew of a sister who had moved there. This sister was someone who we looked after and guided, she lived with us on and off and she shuns us now. So I messaged the JWNer and wouldn't you know it she knew her.

Just found out Emma & Crmsicl went to same HS

i noticed that emma on jwn was from michigan.

i am from mi now living in wa.

so, a long shot, i know it's a big state but something about her made me think we were from the same area.

I noticed that Emma on JWN was from Michigan. I am from MI now living in WA. So, a long shot, I know it's a big state but something about her made me think we were from the same area. So this morning we are messaging back and forth and we are zeroing in on the fact our childhood stomping grounds were matching up. Long story short, I found her picture in my yearbook and we are from the same graduating class AND she signed my yearbook. I'm so impressed. We must have had a class together. So cool.

She wrote in my yearbook: Crmsicl, To a really sweet girl. Never forget what a great senior year we've had. Best of everything, Love Emma

Good Signs from my wife? maybe? She wants to improve her thinking ability!

so after the memorial hell http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/249700/1/memorial-hell my wife totally missed the special talk and i only just realized from jwn that she has.

in fact last sunday i took her out to a park and we had nice time in the fresh air enjoying nature.

also she has taken up improving her congnitive skills on luminosity and today said she might actaully go and study some algebra on khan academy which i had suggested instead of spending money on luminosity.

I remember something from Combatting Cult Mind Control by Steve Hassan. He said one way to help others break out of the cognitive disonance was to engage the person to talk about there dreams, hopes, wishes or good times that they had before joining the cult. If your wife was born in you could get her to reflect on her ambitions or things in her life that were liberating for her.

In other words you have to get her off the wheel as you did that Sunday of the not so Special Talk. Baby steps.

My friend from 40 Years ago

when i was a young jw and all the other young jws were avoiding me because i was from "that family" i had one young girlfriend who didn't care.

we were both not well liked so we hung out together.

she was my maid of honor when i got married but we lost touch because soon after the wedding we moved to "where the need was great" to help set up another cong in our hall.

I'm just glad someone is doing something. I think the name is what it's supposed to be. It's their baby, they get to pick the name. We're family and we accept it. I do anyway.

My latest university experience...

this isn't a jw experience, but for those of you that have been following my life, i thought i'd have a drink and share this strange event in my post-jw life.. for you wonderful newbies, you can catch up on highlights of my story in the few threads i've started here.

i'm finishing the junior year of my engineering degree and the classes are hard as hell.

i used to be among the smartest students in the room until i hit the 300 level university courses.

There are really TWO Watchtower Societies

being a male jehovah's witness during the viet nam war meant certain "issues" arose affecting a decision to respond to the military draft.i have told the story before.

but, i'd like go at it from another angle in view of the above mentioned new light about the fds fora different reason.it was first in 1967 i began to discover that there are two watchtower societies.let me explain why i say this and for what reasons.first of all, anybody standing in a kingdom hall or sitting in a seat at a vast international assembly saw people they would identify as all on the same page.

So we can't force Group 1/Braindead into becoming Group 2/CD Thinkers because as you said they will become "bored, impressed or irritated". Irritated to the point of shunning you and protecting their comfort barrior.

That's why we have to tread carefully as we try to direct those we care about who are stuck in Group 1.
