I have met Flipper and the Mrs. who are really cool people, I hope I get to hang with them again. Also met Mrs Jones and hubby and kids (awesome). Met this cool girl (escapes me) she works for the Nat'l Parks. BUT: I would like to meet Hortensia. We are the same age (63). She was the first one to greet me (on another forum), she is so sassy and I like all of her recipes (from the other forum) and she just seems really cool and we live on the same coast. I think she travels from time to time with her work so hey it could happen.

My 66th birthday is today!!
by Terry inonce i was little boy in fort worth, texas living with my maw maw and paw paw and mommy.. then, i was an 18 year old 6'4'' skinny 165lb religious nut being dipped in a baptismal during a local assembly.. suddenly, i was 20 and listening to a jail cell door clang behind me as a conscientious objector.. wow!
23 years old and put on parole until my 6 years sentence was ended!
i got married to a nice jw girl and had 3 kids!.

Did anyone ever hear of Restorative Touch? There is a 4 year program at a "school" where they teach "woo woo" stuff.
I went to my local Health Food Store one day and sometimes there is someone there who gives a neck/shoulder massage. This day there was a woman there who did not touch my body at all (she did hold the arch of my feet at the beginning and end), she put this magnetic card on my stomach and with my chakras as her guide she waved her hands above me to and fro, this way and that, seeming to shoo the bad stuff away. I was being open minded about it. All I can say is it was interesting. She said when I was done that my eyes looked brighter. Can't say I felt anything noteworthy.

Do you miss God?
by wobble inif you are one of the posters on here who has got to the point where you do not believe in god to any great extent, do you miss "him".
i find that i rarely used to ask god for anything, or load him up with my problems, everybody elses were far more urgent, but i did used to feel moved to praise him when i saw the beauties of creation, a sunset etc.. i now feel an urge to still do that, but do not believe anyone is listening, do you get moments like that ?.

Excuse me WMF but I think the lady needs to have some control. She's been deprived it for way too long. Not to say she shouldn't get a better handle on it. She definetly should. She feels duped by the religion/cult and now feels duped by her husband. I hope she finds someone to talk this out and certainly not her daughter. If a break up is the answer they at least owe it to each other to take a hard look at the forces that took over their lives so they can walk away amicably.
