My grand daughter, age 6, just left for the day. While she was here she was playing with one of her electronic games. She was showing her puppet buddy how to make Santa Clause: Look Buddy, this is Santa, he brings toys to little kids. The electronic Santa was packing his bags while she drew the hat on his head. She said and did all this with no sadness, just factually. I don't know what to think about that. She knows we are neutral and she feels safe to say and do some things with us.

Funny but kind of sad story
by troubled mind inmy youngest son (26yrs old) told me the other day that his barber told him a funny story .. it seems the barber use to be the janitor at the local grade school ,and one day he came into the office and noticed this little red headed boy sitting in there .
now the man said this was a busy day for the little kids ,holiday parties going on in the class rooms so he was curious as to why this little guy was just sitting in the office ...so the janitor asked the secretary what was up with that ?
.....then he said the little red headed kid speaks up loudly ,"i hate being a witness !!

Yes a symbol indeed, that would NOT be missed by the elder police. They would understand what was happening and would want to clean out the apostate influence. If it happened throughout the auditorium it would get difficult to handle.

Another sign could read "Hey, did you hear the one about the Flip Flop doctrine?" And then people inside listening to talks by the GB looking like good JW's would pull flip flops out of there bag and walk around. Of course they would probably be escorted out which would add to the scene.

so i left the old company behind, the one that wasn't paying me.
they still owe me a little bit of money but have them on record and signed documentation that i'll receive payment by the close of this month.

my buddhist encounter

lots of americans with shaved heads,wearing tibetan buddhist costumes.
they do a walk around town once a month with begging bowls, pretending they are sadhus.

Sorry you're feeling crummy Hortensia. I just got over a pollen induced sinus infection. First one I've had since I quit drinking wine so much. I don't even like it anymore.
I also eschew those that wear their superfine faith so blatantly. I'm impressed that you restrained yourself with the orange cloaked lady.

I felt good giving a guy outsitde of Trader Joes some money, which is something I would have NEVER done as a JW, he was asking money for tents and tarps and other essentials for homeless vets. I talked to him for awhile. I asked him where do they (homeless guys) stay. He said: anywhere there are some woods, especially near a Walmart or a conveinance store where they can get a little something to drink (smiles). But, he said, we don't just want to give them the tent, we try to pull them in so we can help change their life around.
I was glad he didn't say God Bless you when I left. He said We love ya.

Tech 49: My Tripping Point, Part 2
by Tech49 inafter reading some of your other posts and experiences, especially regarding the elder's school, i am reminded of part 2 of my experience down the rabbit hole.. the last elder's school i attended was in 2011. i remember vividly the 3 day event.
i remember vividly being bored out of my mind!.

I know the feeling, the first few months after taking off the blinders my husband and I would wake up in bed and the first thing one of said was Wo-ow. I know that leads to other thoughts (wink) but it was usually because of the feelings of lightness and freedom and clarity of thought.

I just finished reading this book. Here's an exerpt from the last paragraph of Chptr 27:
By the early nineties, a scientist at Yale had used HeLa to discover that human cancer cells contain an enzyme called "telomerase" that rebuilds their telomeres. The presence of telomerase meant cells could keep regenerating their telomeres indefinitely. This explained the mechanics of HeLa's immortality: telomerase constantly rewound the ticking clock at the end of Henrietta's chormosomes so they never grew old and died. It was this immortality, and the strength with which Henrietta's cells grew, that made it possible for HeLa to take over so many other cultures--they simply outlived and outgrew any other cells they encountered.
The previous chapter explains that their is a string of DNA at the end of each chromosome called a telomere, which shortened a tiny bit each time a cell divided, like time ticking off a clock. As normal cells go through life, their telomeres shorten with each division until they're almost gone. Then they stop dividing and begin to die. This process correlates with the age of a person: the older we are, the shorter our telomeres, and the fewer times our cells have left to divide before they die.
It's in the works to be an HBO movie.
