No school for you: confirmation of CO outline on education
by raindog ini just spoke with my dad after he returned from an elders meeting.
the co did say that elders would have to step down from their positions if they supported their child getting an education.
the reasoning behind this is that an elder is encouraging their children to attend college, they would not be able to counsel the rank and file on the issue.

Raindog, I am truly sorry to hear his response. Don't give up your future because of your Dad. I did not continue my education due to elder pressure and regret it so much. Do not get down but view this as opportunity.

For the last several years at every meeting I would scan every member of the audience and could divide the cult membership into 3 groups 1) Those that had mental issues 2)Those who had too much time invested to leave 3) Those with too many family members to leave There were only a few that I couldn't figure out. I wonder if they genuinely believed what they were hearing.

just stumbed across it and couldnt' stop reading, or to see what was being read with the intent of setting us or someone else in your life straight?
then b/c of what you read you could no longer buy into the whole jw fraud and left the org or are in the process of leaving?

No Holidays in general. But the one that I have never heard a reasonable attempt of proving wrong is Mothers/Fathers Day. An I have always felt like a jackAss wearing a coat & tie in absurdly warm weather for no reason at all except to conform.

Need suggestions... how do I respond to my elders?

too many people have been asking about us, and therefore giving us attention.
we've had no choice but tell select few friends that we're discouraged, and one that we're having a hard time believing the fds in general.

If you meet with them tell them you are encouraged and you want to reach out. Then do not go to another meeting. Keep doing this until it wears them out. That is unless they have something on you. Then deny unless there are 2 witnesses. If there are, do not meet with them.- Also, Do you have a CO visit in the next 60 days? If so don't worry about it, It is just a CYA visit by them.
