  all those in the org who claims to belong to this class, are they just imagining it?

  this has always been one of the big proof for me that this was the "truth".

  that there actually are those who have the heavenly calling...it confuses me.... appreciate your thoughts on this.. have anyone in this forum, previously, claimed to belong to this group and can explain it, how it feels etc.?.

  Could you explain 1914?

  1914 doctrine was a major thing to me at the time i was a witness, i loved explaining it and saying we had the truth.

  but there were so many witnesses that couldn't explain it at the time and only had a basic concept as to how they came up with the date.

  i wonder how many here could explain and understand this when they were a dub?

  Even though I could explain it I never really bought into it.
  
  And don't believe 10%of JW can explain it.
  
  My guess is 3%-5% can relate the official party line.

  Is there a big conspiracy to keep you poor?

  when i was a witness, i often heard that if you left the trooth that you would become rich fast, have gratuitous sex constantly, become a drug addict and end up worshipping satan.

  man am i disappointed!!

  it seemed for the longest time that there was a giant conspiracy to keep me a poor working stiff just above the poverty line, especially so when i was going to college full time.

  It's not a conspiracy.
  
  Don't spend all your trying to get to meetings and service and either work a little more or go to school.
  
  I concentrated on my career, started making money and got so much grief from elders who were stuck in their financial position.
  
  Finally said screw it and I make a very good living. I am not afraid to work late or work on a weekend. I will go to happy hour with coworkers (showing up at the Christmas party pays off). And network at "unchristian" functions.
  
  I had an elder admit to me the other day that he understood why I worked so hard because I have very nice material possessions while most others in our hall were worried about their job security.
  
  It is amazing what happens when you look at things objectively.

  about 2 weeks after we were married, he was appointed as a ministerial servant.

  Giving talks terrified my hubby-how about you?

  me and the hubby were talking about back in the day when we had to give public talks.

  i'm a natural chatterbox and not very shy.

  my hubby is just the opposite.

  I think anyone( that means brothers) who has given a Public Talk has experienced this. Maybe 10% of the audience is actually listening.

  Those With JW Spouses - How are you Coping ? Any experiences ?

  i wanted to address the folks on board here who really have a challenge on their hands.

  and i feel it's good for us to acknowledge the great job many of them are accomplishing with the pressures they have on them living with a spouse in a mind control cult.

  i know it would be so easy sometimes for some in that position to say , " the hell with it !

  Flipper,
  The biggest thing that sucks for me is I can not, rather will not, subject my young kids to the shunning until they have a support group to counteract the shunning. I have told my wife I will write "the letter" but she has asked me not to do that to her. I think she wants the marriage to work even though she is obviously heartbroken about my new position concerning the Dubs.
  
  The positives for me is that my kids do have "worldly"association that my wife encourages. The Hall we are in( I've been once in the past 2 months to help with the kids, has absolutely no love. And she will not turn me in to the elders.
  
  Anyway I have taken the patient approach. If it takes years,so be it. Once my kids are old enough to make a decision for themselves we all know the will be out with Daddy following. I don't suspect it will take that long.
  
  Gotta go smoke a cigar!
