Loose Cannons
by ballistic inhave you ever noticed that when bullets start flying, you can get so involved in the action, you forget the broader picture.
you can end up shooting yourself in the foot, or worse shooting someone on your own team.
especially when you have a loaded gun and plenty of ammunition, and are trigger happy.

I've played laser tag before ,but you can't shoot yourself . Highly recomend it very fun

Phallic Symbols
by Windchaser inthis morning as i was waiting for my ride into work, i was looking at the trees in my neighborhood.
i don't know what kind of trees they are, but some look like steeples.
i remembered how we were taught that church steeples were like phallic symbols pointing up into jehovah's nose.

I have to laugh now everytime I pass a steeple all the penises . Hey I hear the clintons were putting phallic symbols on their christmas tree ,just curious anyone around here do the same?lolol

Questions about the Taliban/Bin Ladin
by bluesapphire inthis information is directed to those of you who are more knowledgable on this subject.
i received the following in an email today and wanted to see if anyone else heard of this information and if they believe it's valid.
>the us supported bin laden and the taliban for years,.

That's quite a theory you have .This would even tie in nicely with the theories that the US was responsible for 911 in order to gain world support for attacking afghanistan.Following the money is a good way to get to the truth about things although you may not be able to prove anything.

Have you read my experience in the Awake?Read this
by ELON14 inmany of you already know my real name.i'm the one whose experience was published in the sep 8 1994 awake mag.
i would like to stress that although i have good reason to be angry and bitter, nothing i say here is said in anger but only in sadness.
i write this to say that if i could take back many of my words i said in that experience , i would.

I think your title would have made more sense it is apparent that the WT was going for more drama and attracking readers. It's not like you are bin laden converting or anything ,you were clearly doing a civil service. That however was a sad story the way your own people treated you and your wife .Many people don't realize they way things are in Isreal these days regarding zionism .I do remember reading your story in the awake and I was very shocked to see someone telling a story that is contrary to what most of the christian religions believe about the jewish nation.I hear mostly support for the Isrealis from most gentiles and the media in the US and when you said these people won't let you live in peace and take a wife that you choose not only that but suggest taking her as a slave it totally dawned on me just how prejudiced and despicable they are. I still feel you didn't lose by leaving your country and persuing your dream.

What an eccentric performance
by kenpodragon inone of my favorite movies of all time is "monty python and the holy grail.
" i enjoy this movie for many reasons, but most of all for it's satire on society.
one of my favorite scenes, and i should warn you that i know them all, is when king arthur walks up to peasants in the field and tries to explain that he is king of the britons.

PS; Is this site run by the peoples front of judea or the judean peoples front? lol

Oh I agree that the python movies are the funniest ever made .My favorite is Life of Brian . The WT to me is more llke the old man at the bridge and answer these 3 quetions correctly or be thrown into the gorge.lol I do love that part of the peasants arguing with king arthur lol

New novel with major JW themes
by Jankyn infor those who might be interested: i recently read an advance review copy of a new novel, <i>by way of water,</i> by charlotte gullick (blue hen press, 2002).
pretty good first novel, i'd say, but the most interesting thing for me was that the characters' involvement with jehovah's witnesses was a main theme for the novel, and not merely a minor plot point.. set in northern california in 1977 and told through the eyes of 7-year-old justy, the novel tells the story of the unravelling of a family because of the violence and alcoholism of the father and the alienation that the mother's involvement in jws causes.
it's also fairly accurate about the religion--only big gaffe i caught was singing from a brown songbook, when in 1977 we were all using the old mauve <i>singing and accompanying yourselves with music in your hearts.</i>.

personally I think that sounds a like some boring reading .What I would like to read is some of the experiences that were discussed in the WT about the people that were oppressed during world war 1 and 2.After all there is no law that says you have to say the pledge of allegiance even though they forced the japanese to say it in concentration camps in the US during WW2.Which I thought was a sad story as told by Mr.Sulu from star trek.
