  i asked my son quite randomly before bed what he thinks the meaning of life is.

  like always, his answer brought a smile to my face.

  he said, "to have a great time .. to have fun and have friends ... and be happy.

  Interesting, I commented a long time ago on a thread about Wade...I spent a lot of time in the PNW and remember meeting him.

  His linkedin page says he's in Bellingham, but I met him in a congo down south of Seattle.

  One of my relatives that lives in WA told me about several elders (former janitors) that have pretty good hospital gigs now.

  I wish I could remember their names.

  Thanks for posting the interesting conversation you had with him Turtleturtle. I too am curious what happened with his family.

  I downloaded the app to suck up to an inlaw who was sitting next to me while watching a football game....ugh. Didn't want to invade my phone. I ended up uninstalling it when I noticed it kept trying to download another file...it would hang on the download operation for up to a half hour with no end result, It finally made me mad and I just trashed it.

  I was reading the reviews last night, omg. what a bunch of minions. THANK-YOU JEHOVAH FOR THIS AMAZING APP

  ok, i've had a couple o drinks...started out as jack and coke, now have just had a shot of crown ;-) happy monday.. just want to say, i love this community!

  it is such a great place to come to for support and to be able to vent every now and then.

  it saves me the cost of therapy.. simon!

  nah not sloppy drunk....a good alcohol buzz just makes me happy, and lovey (as my wife calls it)

  seriously, I love this board. wish I could post more...but often times, I am frantically typing in 'incognito' mode while my wife is in another part of the house.

  Wife update

  so i am at 1200 posts or so (only about 6 were probably of note), and i still havenlt told my story and probably won't for some time.

  basically, i was a born in who has served in other countries, as an ms, and given talks etc... my wife and i were in foreign language, have co's we have counted as close family friends, and were basically the golden boy and girl of their respective areas.

  among the inane fb comments i've come across about the agm, this one stood out as more inane than the most enthusiastic jw slobbering:.

  "before we start taking about what happened at the agm we must be absolutely certain that all the meetings are over.

  Here's one I saw on my FB feed. "AGM...EPIC!"

  Are you F&%$$%# kidding me. Epic is the word you use to describe sitting in a building with no windows staring at a large video monitor for 3 hrs. All to recieve basically the same exact thing you already had...just worded a bit different. Wow. The koolaide is wafting through the air, I can smell it now. UnF$#@%&(believable!!!!

  ...but it struck me as significant anyway.. i attended at a jw assembly hall, and was sitting behind a pretty typical jw family.

  2 kids about ages 8 & 5, frazzled hen-pecked husband, and....the mom.

  it was totally vacuous.

  despite the promise of "new light" in the opening talk there was nothing.. a few of the more clumsy phrases in the nwt have been improved, and it has a nice new grey cover - so what?.

  i am thinking about the jws who have spent a lifetime waiting on paradise.

  Wow a New bible...in 21st Century English. Probably just an attempt to rake in some cash. I am sure they figure people will donate for a new bible. Whereas mant 'forget' to drop $ in the bucket for other pubs.

  Also this really caught my eye: "Do not have association with "bum" witnesses" A new official designation. I guess all my friends have just lumped me and wife into "Bum" witness category.
