ironically, the religion and publisher of this statement is one of the biggest offenders with their shunning policy of its members who come to the conclusion that their form of worship is unacceptable.. for some, this severe shunning is too much to bear.. ...help me through this my old friends...i really did not want to be dfd!...i am fourth generation....i had already been shunned by my lifelong friends due to my outspoken words regarding my discovering we had changed the bible to make it say what jw's want it to...but now i have lost my family....oomps.
Some one here, more savy than me should put together a pdf file that is concise and damaging to the wt with shunning info...we can all email it, to as many as possible. TV, newspaper, etc...
I just emailed the religion writer at our city paper...I am hoping by next years DC, he will have more to write than the usual fluff.
Reading Oompa's post and knowing he took his life due to the emotionl pain that the WT promotes through Shunning is sickening.

many religions, including the catholic church, have adopted a blanket approach for all 'ministers of religions' and volunteers with regards to compliance with the working with children act 2005.. another point worthy of mentioning is that all religions and organisations have adopted, and have made publicly available a child protection policy, a working with children protocol, a child abuse handling policy, and a privacy policy.. victoria police also made a submission in which they launched an attack on the catholic church in relation to interfering with police investigations into child abuse.
the catholic church has now placed a "gag" order on all priests and religious personnel prohibiting them from talking to the media or the public about the inquiry.. notably absent was any submission made by the religion of jehovah's witnesses and the watch tower society.. an interesting submission came from the seventh-day adventist church.
their 65 page submission was submitted with the follow letter published on page 2.... .

what can you say about the conditional friendships that being a jehovah's witness promotes?
i am still active and there are many who sh*t on me and tossed me aside because of my attitude change.
to me it just seems too easy for these people to turn on and off affection.
I was very sad when I slowely realized over the course of about a year and 1/2 (from time I stepped down as MS to being slightly irregular, missing Meetings and Service) that everyone around you (99% at least) are just conditional friends. All this love and 'spiritual family' talk amounts to nothing.
I can't blame the "bros & Sisters" because I had the same mindset for so long...it's the crazy culture & mindset that has been promoted and ingrained in so many.
I am still physically in the Org, so it makes it even harded to go to meetings, shake hands, make friendly small talk all the while knowing these people don't really care...and would turn around in disgust if they knew how I felt now.
i know a brother who went to the most recent annual meeting.
older brother, non-annointed, elder, wife a pioneer, and overall a pretty good dude.
he let me take a peak at the new awake dropping in 2013, which by the way i have to give credit where it's due as i like the new 16 page format.
New 16 page Awake = "pretty much a track on steroids" lol

i believe that a coup is one of the governing body's worst nightmares.. imagine a splinter group led by anointed ones that draw off enough of a following to cause confusion about who is directing the organization.. this may be one of the reasons the governing body removed the special status of the anointed and placed it on an organizational arrangement that they just happen to occupy.. the irony is that this action is a coup in itself.
by declaring themselves leaders in complete control of the organization, they have created a rival group composed of those who disagree.
these people have no obligation to follow these newly self appointed leaders.
I honestly think Oprah is the only one who could possibly bring down the WT.
