Not too worried. Planes are complicated...they will get the bugs out. This happens to all new planes to some degree. There are billions of people on the earth and two main commercial aircraft companies. Boeing and Airbus. Fleets need to be upgraded. The world needs aircraft to make it go'round. This will pass & I think airlines will be patient due to the new technologies used that make it much more efficient...in the long run the 787 will save them millions of $$$

he said, in part (and im paraphrasing) thank you jehovah for the governing bodys unapologetic manner in providing these adjustments.
i thought to myself, what a strange expression to make in prayer to god!

"Worlds Apart" A danish movie about a young coming of age Jehovahs Witness , screening on SBS2 tonight in Victoria
by smiddy ini know their have been screenings of this movie before , but this notice is for any newbies here that may not have seen it previously.
it is scheduled to screen at 10:25 pm on ch.32 sbs2 sun.25/8/13 .
maybe other states in australia can view it on-line , or request it be shown by sbs in their state.. it is an interesting movie , and apart from minor flaws , pretty accurate despite the beard,though i am told the danes are a bit more liberal than the west.. the real / actual jehovahs witness this story is based on has a cameo appearance near the end of this movie in the train sequence.. please let me know if you watch it and your thoughts about it .. smiddy.

I am looking forward to seeing this movie! It's been out for a long time, but I am waiting to find a good time to watch it with my wife...I want to tweek her so she can see how cultish we are. I think this movie would be good for someone who's not an uber-dub, but a slacker-dub who still believes it's the truth.
I also believe that finland is Nordic, but not Scandinavian! ;-)

the september 21, 1984 issue of chrisitanity today on pages 66-67, ran an article entitled: "do jehovah's witnesses still hold to their 1984 doomsday deadline?".
that's as far as my search has gotten me and it isn't on chrisitanity today's web-site.. can anyone find this article for me?.

I remember meeting Glass back in the 90s. He gave the memorial talk at our hall. I was a young teenager in 84...and don't remember too much expectation or talk about 84. Must have been one of those things that circulated more in some areas than in others.

They don't like members who do not agree with the "Watchtower Society" (even sounds like a cult) anymore. They LOVE journalists that write favorable, flowery articles about them! You my friend, gave them some good press. I don't understand why most newspapers don't have the guts to dig deep and write a real article)

Convention in Canberra Aus this weekend....
by Bells ini'm just wondering whether there is anyone on this forum who may have attended the convention in canberra this weekend.
all of my husbands family went and i'm interested to hear what was talked about - especially in regards to members who have 'fallen away from the truth' or references to worldy people.... i find that how we are treated pretty much depends on what articles have come out in the watchtower (study edition usually) and what talks are being given at the meetings - so knowing what is being said helps me to be prepared.... palso - unrelated but can anyone help me - is the teaching that the anointed will all be gone / dead / in heaven before armageddon comes?
if so, how do they teach that a is 'just around the corner' when the gb are still alive and kicking - as well as other anointed ones... just wowondering.

UPDATE: on the pirate publisher that was selling my book...
by Newly Enlightened inback in may, i had a friend email me after the release of our jwstruggle video and tell me that the book i wrote and had published was all over the internet and some of you requested that i keep you up to date, so here goes.. i hired an attorney to write the publisher a letter.
they stopped selling hard copies and the digital copies of my book but have still not sent a full accounting of how many of my books they sold and reimbursed me and are now ignoring my phone calls and attorneys letters.
so the lawyer suggested that since it is difficult to sue internationally, i call the local office of the fbi.

Advertising the District Assembly on the Radio
by RubaDub inis this just a local practice to south florida or is it done in other areas too?.
i'm driving to work last week and on one of the most popular radio stations (primarily talk and politics) they were advertising the district assembly in west palm beach florida for next week.. it was about a 30 second spot and was the typical "everyone is invited ... no collections taken" .... etc.
etc.. is this common in other areas ???.

That's weird! Never heard of that before...I did see a JW psa on TV about 5 years ago on very late one night, caught me off guard, thought it was so strange.
Wonder if they're testing something new. Do they actually think that would work? What 'worldly' person hears that ad and says hmmm I think I want to spend a summer weekend in an arena.
