My cousin (Restrangled on this forum) was disfellowshipped in the 70's in Chicago. The decision was appealed and lost. The DF'ing was announced, however her parents pulled in some real heavy weights from Bethel. The DF'ing was reversed.

Disfellowshipping Rescinded!
by 00DAD inhas anyone been successful in getting their disfellowshipping rescinded?
i specifically do not mean getting reinstated.
i want to know if anyone that was disfellowshipped was able to officially and through the congregation and/or the organization have their status as a "disfellowshipped person" changed without getting "reinstated" through the normal procedures?.

Did you ever think.....'Why Don't We Kill Off the Anointed'?
by Diest ini know it is an odd thought but when i was 7 or so and suffering through a meeting, i thought.....'why dont they get them in one room, and get rid of them so that we can live in the new order.
' afterall they are going straight to heaven to rule with jesus....not like death is a bad thing in that case.. it makes me laugh now at the simplistic mind set.
but on some levels it was a genius idea...well it was before i realized that it was a sham..

Diest - I think that would make a good Question to the Readers...
Dear Brothers,
Who do you feel has the bigger mental dilemma, the mentally ill anointed, or the mentally diseased apostates?
Waiting with a humble mind and disposition for your holy spirit backed response.
Hugs and Kisses,
D.

I bet the GB 2 would like to kill off a few thousand of them - it would help them save face with the ever increasing annointed numbers.

Football (sports)
by EmptyInside inone of my other posts mentioned briefly how the c.o.b.e.
of my "former" hall is trying to make it a rule of no football, especially for elders and servants.. of course,as a woman i would never qualify to be a servant, nor do i want to be.
but,i still enjoy watching a bit of the nfl.

I love football so very, very much!! Especially college football.
Getting on a plane on Thursday to go see the OSU Cowboys play Baylor Saturday.
Did you see Timmy Tebow on Sunday? The city of Denver loves that boy!!!!
Saturdays are pure fun thanks to football season - so it makes since that it would be considered wrong by the holy brothers. I am sure it has something to do with fornicating or masturbating or animal sex. The new light will shine on us soon and we will all understand why it is wicked to watch football

Popularity Contest
by Voices ineverywhere i've gone, no matter what, there's always a 'popularity contest' (which i'm a loser to)... whether it was in the organization (based on how high you went up the chain of command or who you married for the sisters), the school system such as high school, college, etc.. or job.
who does the hardest work, who does what, when how.
even on this website.

I love Brussel Sprouts, hate KFC and beer, but do enjoy Outlaw's humour (when it does not involve kittens in blenders)

How long did Conventions used to be?
by donuthole ini remember as a child in the 1980's attending four day conventions.
i know in the past conventions were even longer.
does anyone know how long they use to last and the approximate years?

I luckily escaped the 8 day assemblies, but clearly remember the ones that were five days. We attended the conventions in ST. Paul.
In 1973 we had a big one in Winnipeg and then in 77 a huge one in Milwaukee.
I always had to play my damn flute at every convention - was so happy when we went to canned music
At the '77 convention they loudly condemned the movie 'Saturday Night Fever' - everyone in my row had already seen it.

How Have you Counted your time for Pioneering?
by jehu or jehonadab injust woundering how have you counted your time in field service especially if you were pioneering?.
would like to see if any of you were on the same page as i was.
with so much to do, like reading all the watchtower and awake each month and the bible reading each week.

10 years pioneering at 90 hours/month - the last couple of years I counted time through my coffee break - but always begged Jehovah's forgiveness. I always felt guilty counting break time.

Your most memorable Kingdom Hall meeting disruptions!
by easyreader1970 ini remember about twenty years ago some teenagers were caught fornicating in one of the additional schools.
the schools were downstairs, essentially separated from the rest of the kh.
they weren't just happened upon, though.

In the late 70's my brother was in the same hall as Norman Zenke. I am not sure if Norman was the PO at the time. Anyway, during the Service Meeting announcements, Norman had another announcement he needed to give to the brother on stage. So instead of going up on stage and speaking to him or handing him a note. He gets down on his hands and knees and crawls up on stage and hands the brother a note from his doggy position and then crawls back to his seat. I beleive he thought no one could see him down there on the floor.
