  new arrangement for hand-drying at district conventions.

  in our efforts to simplify arrangements and reduce costs, the society is pleased to announce a new arrangement that will take effect at the annual district conventions starting with the keep on the watch even longer convention in the summer of 2010. the society needs to carefully allocate its resources so that the worldwide work can continue to grow and that the society can defend itself from legal challenges instigated by our opposers.. effective this summer, the number of paper towels allowed per visit in the restrooms at convention sites will be reduced from one to zero.

  we do not think our dear brothers and sisters will notice the difference.

  i am so thrilled to find this forum.

  it is such a relief to know that all of us 'apostates' are normal people who had the nerve to question what has been crammed down our throats.. i am 4th generation ex-jw with family members at bethel, doing missionary work, and pioneering.

  even though i have been out for almost 20+ years, i still had guilt admitting to myself that this was a cult-like organization until just recently.

  Your worst field service experience.

  my worst field service experience was this.. i didn't have a car at the time and so a pioneer sister was picking me up of service every couple of days.

  she was my partner and i got a door where the woman was clearly not interested.

  as i am stepping away the pioneer sister starts in with all the objection stoppers.

  Unlike a lot of you, when I left I gained my family back. My four siblings all became apostates long before me. I cut them off for years. When I left dubville I had my family back with lots of support from them. The freedom and joy I felt those first few months is indescribable. So I think my recovery came from being with fellow apostates every day!

  this is a true story, more than 10 years ago, i went to the memorial and there was a very hot bible student female.

  we met each other, she gave me her phone number.

  Two years ago my brother was killed in a horrific accident. I felt my world had come to an end. I was driving home from the funeral with my two daughters and my cell phone rings and it is an elder from the hall I used to attend (I had been out of the JW picture for over a year). He told me that they were trying to get a JC together to meet with me. I asked him if he knew my brother had been killed a few days ago. He said he did, but said no words of condolences (Probably because my brother was disfellowshipped). He proceeded to ask me if next Saturday would work for a JC. I was sobbing so hard I had to pull off the road. I asked him again if he realized what had just happened to our family. He said that I would lose my life like my brother if I did not get on the right road. I hung up and never did show up for a JC meeting.

  can anyone help me with a quote from a publication studied in '09 that had a box that said jws leave over selfish reasons but not over doctrine?

  i think it was studied in the bs but i can't find it and i already tried the search feature.

  i remember someone posted about it at the time it was studied.

  p.s I would not be surprised if a goodly number of DF'd ones found out the truth about the WT, and then ,like a spring released, did something that got them DF'd , but a realisation of the false doctrines was the trigger.

  That is what I was going to post. Many leave because of the falsehood and then realize it is okay to celebrate the holidays, have sex etc. and that is when the mafia makes their move. Therefor putting in our little df paper that goes to brooklyn..."Gross wrong doing"

  i knew some elders that were very reluctant to go after certain people because those people knew little secrets that they kept to themselves.. many bethelites i knew were huge drinkers.

  there was kind of an unwritten pact that if you were cool with it, you were part of the "in" group= you would get "privileges" and bigshots would be your "friends".. did you ever have something over another witness?
