  anyone interested in posting game schedules and/or picking winners, similar to what is being done on the nfl thread?.

  do you miss anything from when you were a jw?

  a few of my friends who also used to be jw's, say they miss certain things abt it...i can honestly say that i don't miss a single thing (my sister obviously who's still in but nothing else).. before i could sometimes miss having such a strong belief but that's also gone.

  i guess i've moved on big time.

  I miss all the beautiful suits, dresses, skirts etc I used to buy constantly. Now I work in a casual office and only have the need for a few black evening dresses. I sure miss the variety - but have no need for it.

  I also miss my old Scrabble partner - she absolutely kicked ass at Scrabble!

  Why has there never been a manual for wives of elders if the FDS cares so much for families

  there could be such chapters as.

  1 how to raise children in the "truth" without a husband.. 2 how to not feel hurt when your husband ignores you during the meetings and talks to everyone else.. 3 how to handle your husband rushing with anther elder off to be with some poor depressed sister or family night after night when you are depressed yourself.. 4 what to do with yourself when you husband has talks out and he is busy gabbing with the other elders and you are standing alone watching the sisters stare but never coming over to talk to you as you stand there stupidly.. 5 how to handle the rude phone calls of members of the hall demanding your husband come over right now!.

  6 how to explain to your children why their father is helping other families and has no time to spend with them.. 7 how to explain to your children that a quick build is more important than they are.. 8 how to explain to neighbors and coworkers why your husband is always busy with the congregation and can never help you around the house.. my husband and i were talking the other day and he brought up again that the wives of elders should consider the cost of marring an elder.. i never knew before we were married what it was truly like.

  you really can't make this stuff up.

  but an organization like the wt society bent on controlling virtually every aspect of the typical jehovah's witness life - would make this up to keep their control through the use of fear and guilt.

  so- i thought i'd share what i thought was the strangest, most offensive, weird language dealing with what the wt society calls " disfellowshipping offenses " .

  #5 Porneia DOES NOT require ..... sexual climax. I wonder if this is clarified because every inexperienced young man comes in 2 seconds, which is definately not the case for the poor girl. So if climax was an issue, then the male would always be in trouble and the female would be sinless. Just a thought.

  #11 stayed all night in the same house with a person of the opposite sex. GUILTY!I stay over at men's houses a lot. Sometimes even in the same bed - It's usually because I did not want to drink and drive or because I did not want to drive in bad weather. Nothing has ever remotely happened in the area of PORNEA.   #19 A glutton routinely shows a lack of restraint , even gorging himself on food to the point of feeling very uncomfortable. GUILTY! I LOVE FOOD! usually to the point of putting on stretch pants after dinner.

  I guess I will not be getting reinstated any time soon.

  onemore started a thread on the organization's year in review.... i thought it would be interesting to hear of individual's highlights of 2010. magwitch's 2010 review.

  i totally stopped drinking (which i started with gusto when my brother died in 2007)i learned i can live alone and be independent and happy (both physically and financially)

  Zoiks...Aaaaaannnd, as predicted, we then got divorced (three times!), the children are begging on the streets, I am addicted to meth and prostitutes, my wife is into Satan worship and the occult, and we have been left with nothing but squalor and diseases.

  So true! They naturally assume we will become Satan incarnate once we stop being the Stepford Wives

  I found a letter that we got from Bethel when we left, it clearly says publishing plant operations.

  i was going through some boxes the other day and found the letter we received to use for reference's in looking for work after bethel.. we left bethel in 1994 a long time ago now it seems.

  the letter was written by max larson.

  i have not seen this letter for years and reading it this time it struck me how cold it really was.
