  Well, well, well, it turns out this nutjob,... excuse me... whack job, no wait...this poor woman whose actions do not deserve the least bit of public scrutiny, was smarter than at first glance. Turns out her family has hired a PR firm to handle all the publicity. YAYY!! Exploitation of the reproductive process at its finest.....

  Octuplets' mom hires PR agency

  LOS ANGELES -- The mother of the longest-living octuplets in the U.S. is being deluged with offers for book deals, TV shows and other business proposals, her new spokeswoman said Monday.

  Hundreds of requests have been made since Nadya Suleman gave birth to six boys and two girls a week ago, said Joann Killeen, president of Killeen Furtney Group, a public relations company.

  "She's the most sought after mom in the world right now," Killeen said. "Everyone wants to talk to her."

  Suleman, a 33-year-old single mother, already had six children, ages 2 to 7, when she gave birth to her octuplets on Jan. 26.

  And when her 15 minutes of fame runs out, I wonder who'll foot the bill for all the clothing, feeding and medical care that these children will need? Sorry, right now there's no "father" figure to come in, hold up his right hand and pledge allegiance to raising these kids. And as far as all the starving children in the world, its true they are the ones that deserve our compassion. If sympathy for her is what's being sought, I suggest checking in the dictionary between sh!t and syphilis. You won't find any here.

  Cog - let it go okay. YOU were the one that posted challenging/questioning me about what I know about the DSM, as if any of that even matters on an internet forum. If you carefully read my post, you just might see that I said everyone is assuming things and that you cannot diagnose anyone over the internet. But as I said before, this my friend, is the internet NOT, a person's medical record. Anyone is free to post whatever the heck the like and if it is my opinion that this woman is a nutjob, so be it.

  And of course opinions are like ________, everyone has one.

  How do we know the woman is obsessed with popping out babies? - Answered above

  Those were all assumptions made by people reading the article. The article did not state any of those things as proven facts. - This is an internet forum, so assumptions are being made anyway, not just by me.

  How can you guarantee the woman can be diagnosed with multiple issues? Have you ever met her, talked to her or spent time with her? - I do not have to sit down to afternoon tea with this woman to know that she's off her rocker. Another assumption. Of course, in order to diagnose anyone you have to meet with them and have the credentials. But then again this is an internet forum, not the private room of a mental health clinic.

  Do you have any mental health qualifications? Are you aware of the diagnostic criteria for mental health illnesses in the DSMV IV? Do you even know what that is? - Without revealing too much about myself here, I will say that I have a bachelor level and a masters level degrees, the masters requiring over 900 practicum hours and extensive knowledge of assessing individual and their environments on ALL axis of the DSM. I also have 7+ years professional experience in hospitals and non-profit agencies. So um, yeah.

  If you did, you would probably know that you cannot drive someone else into having mental health problems simply by living with them and having children. - WRONG!! - Environmental stressors can trigger psychological problems and other mental health issues.

  Unlike you, I will not assume that no one else is knowledgeable about mental health issues, nor will I ask you for your qualifications. Don't take it personally, but this is an internet forum so you should not have taken my responses as directed toward you only. The issue is one of medical ethics and morals, not about me justifying my posts through my credentials.

  Whether it's washing your hands 180 times a day or being obessed with popping out babies you have NO intention or plan on supporting, goes beyond the realm of normal behavior. I guarantee that she can be diagnosed with multiple issues, - probably lacks a sense of the reality surrounding her. Her extreme case is being confused with a woman wanting a large family, but having the right supportive elements in place. Living off your parents and driving your own mother to have psychiatric problems and not caring about how all these children will be fed and cared for, also seems a bit narcissistic (sp?)

  Then the state began requiring healthcare providers to ensure their Medicaid patients weren't on the list of molesters before prescribing Viagara. Problem solved. I believe in regulating healthcare providers.

  Exactly, IMO a good deal of this case is really not about the government regulating people's reproductive choices as it is regulating medical treatments/drugs as it always has. There are tons of medical regulations on the books, and it's already apparent that implanting 8 embryos was highly questionable even life threatening - whether she had other children or not.

  I'm as liberal as the next person, but, I'm very tired of the argument for reproductive rights supporting extreme cases like this. I do not believe that anyone should be able to have as many children as they like, especially if they exhibit signs of mental instability. When a person's "rights" begin to significantly impose on the public good it is no longer a private matter - take that how you want to.

  th is an interesting point.

  apostates always bang on about watchtower double speak and the way the society twists words, investing them with mind-control triggers but rarely do we hear about censorship by omission, the words jw's can't speak.

  Family is shunning us.

  mrs smith and i have faded away for many years.

  we knew the day will come that we would be questioned directly what our stand is.. this past holidays we were confronted by our jw family.

  we told them the truth, we are not jw's anymore and that we go to any church that strikes our fancy.

  Thank you for sharing your experience and having the courage to finally be honest with your family - something I have a hard time fathoming in my situation, but eventually I will have to do the same for my own sanity and peace.

  I am beginning to find it very hard to grow spiritually, but at the same time have to lie and/or hide how I really feel. I haven't been out a year yet, and with DC time coming, everyone is asking.. when's your convention? what hotel are you at? did you see the program, etc..etc...

  I really tried to break it to my mom, that I was having doubts, but she got really emotional, teary and telling me that doubting is what Satan wants, yadda, yadda, yadda. I couldn't tell her the whole truth.

  Anyway, I know it's hard right now but hang in there. The internet is exposing this religion more and more for what it is and you never know who in your family may stumble onto the real truth. Plus, from what I see, it gets easier.

  True Religion vs. False Religion and James 1:27

  something that opened my eyes as i was re-examining "the truth" was the verse at james 1:27. in the new world translation the greek word in this verse, threskeia, is translated worship, which is fine except that it hides a more important meaning.

  this same word can be, and most often is translated religion.. for witnesses, the matter of being the "one true religion" is all important.

  pure and undefiled religion before god and the father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, to keep oneself unspotted from the world.. english revised version.
