How do the elders know if you are truly repentent?
by jetery inthe reason why i ask is because whenever u are df and u are trying to get reinstated they are always tellling u that u have to produce fruits befitting repentenace like attending the meetings,etc.
they always make it seem that since they are gods spirit-directed org.
that he will know whether or not if a person is repentent.

Goddessrachel I feel the same way. I did everything I was supposed to and they say no. What gets me its not even scriptual...unless you use the NWT. I think what they really need to explain is how someone can have a relationship with jehovah and Jesus and not be in the orginization. I wonder if anyone has ever filed a law suit against them if a family member committed suicide while being df'd ?

The End of Circuit Overseers
by scotsman inis indeed apparently nigh as another poster predicted along with the end of the weekly bs.
not sure when this should take place but i'm reliably informed by a family member that one of the uk's overseers was talking about it fairly recently.
reduced to weekend visits by an outside but local elder instead.. i have no further info..

Saw an Elder @ the Van Halen concert last night!
by WingCommander insunday, the giant center hershey pa. .
before the show, i of course ducked into the mens room so that i wouldnt have to during the show.
(which was awesome by the way) anyway, as i am standing in line waiting my turn, whom do i see turn to leave?

I saw Van Halens first concert reunion with David Lee Roth in Charlotte NC last year. It was an amazing show and the best time I had in a very long time. I think that sometimes former elders do carry some guilt for their position they had when they were a jw and it must be difficult for them to try and connect with others who are also ex jw's

It's Official!
by searchingforfriends ini went away last week with my boyfriend (imissmaine) and the day after boarding our cruise ship we were walking around before dinner.
just after sunset we happened to be on one of the decks overlooking the water and talking when he got down on one knee and proposed!.
so in case you were wondering, i said "yes!

Are active JW's seeing the light?
by boyzone ini ask this because i had a strange experience this week.
for a brief bit of background knowledge i'm being shunned like most on here, but i see witnesses every day in my place of work and at the school gate, there's no avoiding them, and like many of you, i've found it really hard to get over the hurt and heartache this has caused.. yesterday my mum (an active witness) went into hospital to have a tumor removed (successfully) as i'm the only daughter nearby to help, the other witnesses were asking the elders what they were supposed to do if they wanted to visit my mum and i was at her bedside, should they talk to me or turn round and go out again.. one elder said to do that would be utterly ridiculous, of course i should be spoken to.
he was very annoyed even at the suggestion.

I heard Phil also...he is one of the most sensible witness's I have ever heard. He seems to know a lot of people in bethel and there is descent there. Phil is of the Anointed Class and he does really seem like a "Watchman" looking over the flock. Actually it seems more people want to talk to Phil than anyone else on those phone conference calls.
