JW.ORG ABOUT TO WIN THE LOTTERY!
by The Searcher inafter the reading out of the letter about the "new donation arrangement" this week, there is going to be a flood of money pouring into the org's coffers!.
not only from the bank accounts of the sheep, but soon after from the bulk of money in kingdom hall accounts worldwide!.
question: has anyone calculated how much cash could be grabbed from the 113,823 congregations on earth?.

I am part of a congregation with a balance of between £20,000 and £30,000!
I think congregations with higher percentage of retired brothers and sisters have tendency to be rich.
As I come from a developing country, the accounts for several congregations are maximum in their few USD100s.
For this analysis I would suggest taking out all the congregations in poor countries and assign a minimal amount and then the developed country assign your $5K figures.
I believe the figure will be halved, but still that’s too much money to handle in one go - Wondering what the purpose is for this.
Need to check where they plan to invest them and start buying shares!

Was the letter read in any congregation? Here in UK asked 2 friends and they dont recall anything like this has been read in yesterdays meeting.
Tonight we have our meeting and will see if they read it.
I stopped contributing years ago and dont know if this is to expose people like me and what would be the outcome - not planning to fund the court cases account!

Letter read out in our congregation on Friday! I dont think anyone understood what it meant, even the elder who read it. His comment was, and i quote: "It is very intersteing to see how the organisation is moving forward, and see what benefits this change will bring"

Did anyone mention the overlapping generation?
I wonder if you ask any hardline JW this question, would they list them all?

Any Suggestions on what to say if elders ask why you stopped going in FS?
by BU2B ini was curious what might be some good things to say if i am questioned by the elduurs about my decline in fs.
anything too honest may get me a jc (although that would be for the best in the end..) the co visit is this week so they may be getting more agressive than usual.

I had several unofficial discussions by elders about my reduces FS, i average 2-4hrs per months. I always told them i don’t like ministry and it is not for me. I am happy to give support the local cong with maintenance days, gardening, RBC but not going d2d. I hate it and think it is waste of time!
I even quote the bible and say some servant of Jah were workers and they were not asked to preach, same thing during Jesus times, not everyone was a preacher. Consider me Admin.
Guess what happens, i get more responsibilities within!
I think sometimes honesty works.

Watchtower Travel Agency ???
by 4thgen inwho is making the travel arrangements for the international conventions?
i heard somewhere they did not use outside sources anymore to coordinate the airfares, etc..
-
Da.Furious
My understanding is that for this year, maybe only for UK, everyone arranges his travel personally except for Hotel; you have to book (directly not via Branch) the preselected hotel by the society.
Previous to this, the international conventions were part of a package that was offered by the society. I presume this has caused too much admin and complaints of expensive packages.
Now they get commission from Hotel bookings without any admin resources - sounds profitable!
And as always, donate for the the free buses/coaches at the assembly.

I went to the memorial - or as it was referred to celebration of Christ’s death!
It was OK, until the speaker started messing up the talk and no one passed wine or bread to him. Also the sound brothers put the wrong song for the final one.
Besides that, nice pictures with friends and family beside the flowers.

What usually happens after the memorial?
by Frazzled UBM indo members of the congregation usually have a meal together after the memorial?
does the fact that my wife has decided not to travel across town to her filipino congregation and is going to the local one instead and wants to be picked up when it finishes at 8 pm mean that she hasn't been invited to a meal with her filipino congregation and that she is being socially excluded by them?
i think this is good news but i don't want her to get caught up with the local congregatin because i don't want them coming around to pressure her to attend when she is irregular.

We are having the memorial after another congregation and it would be too late to got out. Usually, if it is earlier, we go with friends for dinner or drinks, but Monday i am not sure who wants to go?
