Is this country specific? I didn't hear anything about such meeting in UK? I may have missed that meeting.

Awake! to be part of Watchtower Public Edition!
by Atlantis inthis was posted on a jw site and it would be nice if we could verify.. .. .. as of february 2015, the awake!
will come as a part of the watchtower public edition instead of as a separate magazine.
this is a huge change... with serious cost savings.

In the UK, Awake is shipped inside the WT Public. We even had local needs reminding brothers that what looks like 1 magazine is actually 2. In other word, Awake an insert to the WT public.
This is achievable when the branch who prints uses the new printing machines.
Smaller branches do not have this facility and in developing countries, they still have each one distributed separately but in the reduced pages format, not to mention not all articles are published in non english/latin languages.
I dont think this is something new or exciting. Developing countries catching with cost savings!

Did anyone hear about this? This will be Planning HQ for the new Bethel.
http://www.essexcountystandard.co.uk/news/localnews/11541253.Motel_set_to_be_Jehovah_s_base/
THE rundown Woodstock Motel has been bought by Jehovah’s Witnesses as plans for their printing centre gather momentum.
The motel, in Stock Road, West Hanningfield, closed in July and was purchased by the International Bible Students Association (IBSA) – the charity which manages Jehovah’s Witnesses’ printing and literature distribution – at auction.
The motel had been dubbed “embarrassing” and “the worst hotel ever” by guests on Trip Advisor in June.
Subject to planning permission, the building will act as the “design co-ordination centre” for the neighbouring Jehovah’s Witnesses publishing and printing base, which it is hoped will be built on Temple Farm, in Ship Road.
Plans for the 82-acre site include a plant producing Bible-based literature, admin and language translation offices, production studios, an auditorium, a training centre and workshops all on the site.
An IBSA spokesman said: “IBSA has acquired the former Woodstock Motel site and has already started a thorough clean-up of this rundown property.
“Subject to planning, it is hoped this will serve as a design co-ordination centre in support of the proposed Temple Farm development.”
Richard Poulter, Conservative councillor for Bicknacre and Hanningfields, said: “I don’t see this being a problem as long as it doesn’t create noise or traffic.”

Just saw this new coverage on yahoo news:
Things noted:
- Why did they book a small stadium to fit 70,000? They are sitting on plastic chairs!
- How can 70,000 pump AUD 50million into the economy of the city? How credible is this figure?
- The opening statement: JWs are known for having extreme believes, no mention that all but JWs will service, just Armageddon will come!
Looks to me the whole coverage is orchestrated by the Convention Media Department - good publicity!

Watchtower circulation jumps up!
by factfinder inthe jan. 1, 2015 w shows an updated printing of 52,946,000 copies each issue in 228 languages.. this is an increase of 7,002,000 copies per issue over last year, this is the biggest increase i have seen in the printing of the w per issue for any one year.
thus, including the study edition over 70 million copies of the w are now being printed each month.. .
i wonder if awake!

These figures are for the public edition of WT. I am not surprised. These magazines are being used for Metropolitan and cart/trolley witnessing. I would expect similar increase for the Awake also.
People are picking them up out of interest, like any brochure or newspaper you pick when you are walking and talking on the phone, then you realise you don’t need it and then throw it.

Child Shunned by Jehovah's Witnesses International Convention, Melbourne, Australia (17-19 October 2014)
by jwleaks indocuments and media releases relating to the shunning and discrimination of a special needs child by jehovahs witnesses in relation to the melbourne international convention, 17-19 october 2014. the following documents and press release were received by jw leaks in relation to the jehovahs witnesses international convention at etihad stadium, melbourne, australia.
it is understood that due to last minute information in relation to the administration and control of the first aid health services at the convention the following press documents had not been released to the media.. prior to publishing and releasing the following sensitive information, the members of the team at jw leaks made formal inquiries with the victorian workcover authority (vwa) and the administrators of etihad stadium (melbourne stadiums limited) as to whether measures have been put in place to prevent the jehovahs witnesses and watchtower bible and tract society of australia from operating any first aid health services and first aid department in alleged breach of applicable health and safety laws.. we were assured that the jehovahs witnesses will no longer have control of the first aid management at the event but that st john ambulance first aid officers will be on site for each of the three days.
it is our understanding that this was done for the purpose of protecting the health and safety of all 70,000 daily patrons and delegates attending the convention.

Not surprised at all. Same thing happened at Twickenham this year, but the family did not do anything. They just left the Convention on that day. I presume they cam back on Saturday or Sunday.

Steve2, do you think they are still on the branch committee? When he went back to USA he would order a ZO visit and reshuffle the whole committee. I f heard and seen these changes happening.

Sometime someone posted about where JWs are operating and mentioned that no JWs are available in Muslim countries. Unfortunately this is wrong.
JWs are spread in several countries and to my knowledge Britain Branch oversees the work in Gulf countries, Italy/France North African - not sure who oversees the Asian Muslim countries.
The method they use to preach, D2D or informal, is dictated based on the countries strictness and local authority approval. The aim is make a noise, and this is getting easier now with the JW.org and tv.jw.org. All they need to do is send the link to someone and leave it to their curiosity.
I remember one ZO mentioning that there is no need to physically preach, as long as they know about us and what we are doing we can wash their blood of our hands and it is their problem when they will be judged.
They follow Jesus advice to be wise as snakes and innocent as doves or as the NWT states it: so prove yourselves cautious as serpents and yet innocent as doves.

Roll call of those of us stuck in for our spouse or whos spouse is still in!
by BU2B ini just wanted to get a feel for how many here have awakened to ttatt but are still carrying on some jw activities to pacify them and keep the peace.
also trying to hear from those who have left, but whose spouse has stayed in the wt and in the marriage.. for me it comes down to my own mental anguish.
i am mentally tortured by attending the meetings, yet i feel compelled to because my wife would kill me with her personality if i had her drag 2 small girls by herself there.

Thanks OneEyedJoe for bumping the topic.
I am still in, not as active as used to be still get parts in the meetings but i dont show up in ministry and keep putting the 10hours to keep elders away! Wife is 80% in but has her doubts based on few things i have slipped in our discussions. Unfortunately all our extended families are JWs and there is too much at risk - mostly it's a cultural thing.
