I got baptized at a CA (circut assembly....cant believe i rememebered that) at the age of 14.....I wore a smiley face t shirt.....cause I did it to

get df'd....was my only way out of it before I was 18yrs.

Do I think a 10yr old can make that kind of commitment?? Nope....but in the dubs corrupt institution....I think he thinks so....very sad indeed.

I saw getting baptized as a way out.........and I did....9 months later.

It breaks my heart....cause I know this young man thinks he is doing a good thing.....but there are so many other great things he could do with his life...if only given the right direction.

hey everyone.....been a while just wanted to introduce myself again

well, i have been a memeber for a while.

thought the site was gone.. nice to see its still up and running.. learned alot here.. to summerize..........born into the jdub......got df'd at 15.... (am 34 now)on purpose (was molested by my uncle, so wanted out, saw the bs of covering that kind of thing up at an early age),.

dad was an elder, grandad was a po, etc.. left home after being df'd..........ran away....never to return....had a hard time learning how the " world" really was.. anyways......just glad to see this board is still around........just wanted to extend myself to anyone who needs to talk about abuse or the difficulty of "getting out".

Being newly out......really scary....at least it was for me...I was only 15.

But I can say....my biggest problem was trusting ppl too much. I was taught that u should trust ppl till they give you a reason not to.

Well, I have found in my own experience that the opposite is true. The kind of innocence dubs have is very vunerable to those in the "world".

Just trust your gut, if you feel someone or something isnt right, just like u felt about the dubs, go with it. Your gut is your compass for a while, learn to trust it and listen to it.

At times you may feel like you're overreacting, but better safe then sorry right?

Its a big change nd it takes time to adjust. Just give yourself the time to adjust.

We have been fed that anyone from the "world" is evil....well, thats true, but the dubs are just as evil. Kinda have to weigh it out....ya know?

There are really...REALLY good ppl out here...in the "world"......kinda of a trial and error.

But the great thing is....you get to choose, and learn, noone else tells you what to do or how to feel, or what the future holds. That my friend is amazing, sometimes it sucks, not gonna lie, but....the difference is.....you finally get to choose.

No matter what.......fending off the guilt, is a really nice thing to get rid of.

Are you gonna make all the right choices????? Nope...but......at least you can make the choices.

Nice to be able to get that kind of power back. Scary??? Hell ya....but you will get used to it.

Even if its a small thing to get you started.....seeing a Harry Potter movie, or going to a club and being invisible....just to watch everyone around you and laugh and the crazyness around you....at least you did it, and saw it.

The most amazing thing for me...........chased my dream. I wanted to go to school to be an automotive machanic...........and I DID IT!!!

I am a 34 yr old women......5ft 0in tall...woman......but I graduated and I DID IT!!!

I can do all I can...worked in a dealership a week out of school....had a 3.71 GPA when I graduated.

The world is yours...........go to school....see a movie....whatever it is......its now yours.

My wife's out and we're very happy

i feel a bit guilty.

people on this forum were very friendly and helpful to me when i was in the in-between phase between brainwashing and freedom.. i also got a lot of help and advice and sympathy when i was trying to get my wife out.. but when she did leave, i forgot all about you guys, and we got on with our lives, and have never been happier.

honestly, life is soooo damn good now, i worry i might have reached the peak and things will only get worse from here.. we are amazed at how much our children enjoy birthdays and christmas - how healthy, normal and fun these things are.

I am so glad to hear u were able to move on and truely enjoy life...........I was a long time member here for a while and left....then found out it was

supposed to be shut down....so I didnt look back. I helped alot of ppl and alot of ppl helped me. I am at a healthy point in my life now and would

like to help others find the peace you have found.

Its truely an eye opening thing to be able to live your life by your own rules.......without guilt.....and smile about it. Even if you dont like all the

things you try , but the freedom is in being able to do it on your own terms. So, so much freedom....and to be able to truely enjoy simple things, in a

way they wouldnt mean as much, at least in my own experience, if I didnt take charge of my life and take my power back.

Well, now.......and I am not trying to hijack the thread.....just wanted to know how to post my own thread since the format is so different.......can anyone help?

Congrats on you and your families new lives....it makes me smile to know another family has broken the chains of guilt, and are willing to go

through the experience that is life.

As a dub....our lives were told to us......now.....the unknown is a welcomed thing. :)

what angers you about the truth

this angers me .

elders who will not make shepherding calls to comfort their brothers and sisters but as soon as that brother or sister puts one little foot out of line those same f-----g (sorry about the language but it really angers me ) elders can not move fast enough to form a judicial committee and then are so unmerciful - it makes me want to vomit literally

OK...........where do I begin.....

First of all.......the notion of not being judgemental.....that is ALL they do is judge.

They are the judge...........jury.....and ex.....no disfellowshipper.......worse then execution.....(In the long run I learned actually helped me).

Claiming to be "humble"...............humble???? not likely.........I can't even measure the ego the Society has.

The fact they believe they are above the law........sexual abuse directory they have is enough to enrage anyone.

What calms me from the anger..............is knowing I have escaped the clutches of the cult I was raised in, and I have bettered my life, and my son's life.

I am stronger...........wiser......my eyes are open........I make my own choices.......and I live without guilt!!!

That is true freedom..............there is NO price on that, anywhere.

It is a good feeling knowing you can channel such anger......into a postive thing........that is the sweetest revenge..........to be happy and content, with yourself.....to smile in the mirror everyday.

That is a gift you can only give yourself..............and it is priceless.............and for your children to see that in you.............is worth all the treasures in the world!

SO...........anger.............yes..............I had it.......it had its place............but now......the supposed "truth".....gave me strength beyond what most could imagine.

I turned my anger into a good thing. It isn't easy I will admit...........but very worth it.

Any JWs who did NOT refuse BLOOD transfusion?

i have never heard of one.. the key word here for me is "minor".......mature or not.......the law would still see them as a minor and couldn't override the parents decision for fear of lawsuits or worse.. like i said............i have never heard of one.

Demonstrators at Bethel

had any of you seen any demonstrators at bethel when you worked there?

i am curious as to what any of you thought of them when you seen them holding signs and passing out pamphlets to jws as they were all walking by.

if any had seen them, did they have any impact on your life in any way?

I arrived late when Silentlambs did the march, but I was there.

I did leave a few lambs (later that night) to symbolize me and those in my family who had been silenced.

Even though they were only stuffed animals............doing that in frount of Bethel (my parents met there) gave me some closure.

I could see some people inside Bethel looking out the windows (even though they tried not to be seen).

I know what they thought about it..........but it wasn't about them...........it was about the victims having a voice and leaving a message.

Simon on the conference call Saturday August 16?

simon, the administrator of jwd, private mailed me, saying he is going to try to come on our live conference call this saturday night.. in view of the current news concerning jwd we have set aside a special conference call.

the program will be devoted to the efforts and accomplishments of this most popular site.
