  Hi WKMII -- I don't think they are evil; it is actually they who think i am evil! I looked them in the eye kindly as they were leaving, and said in all sincerity that it was too bad we can't really be friends, as i would be 'bad association' to them. She didn't reassure me that this is not true, they don't look at me that way, etc, she just said nothing.

  I have a more personal connection with family members of one of them too. I have welcomed them into my home, entertained them, and spent time talking with them and getting to know and love them. As a matter of fact, because i know and love the kids, this is one of the reasons i did bother to spend all this time with them. -- (OTOH, they don't give my offspring the time of day, have only met her once, never had her in their home, and act like they don't know her when they see her.....) So, yah, sorry, but the fruit thing just felt a little fake/manipulative.

  It took all the self control i have to sit there, and have someone in my living room, telling me they would let their kids die before giving them blood! It's one thing to read about it online or in books, but to experience it in reality..... i'm still reeling from it.

They said they didn't want to leave a bad taste, and we can still love our neighbors! The little note on it quoted the verse, 'by your fruits you shall know them." WOW! Am i supposed to be convinced by this? The only thing it convinces me of is that they're just trying to prove "WE"RE NICER THAN YOU!" And i think if anything i said was disturbing them, they have to 'prove' in this way, that they DO have the truth, because they are just proving it by being so loving, after i was so 'mean' to them with all those facts and questions.

  here are a few things that were said that seemed kind of dubious to me.

  (i had a meeting with 2 women that came to the door - full story in the thread "i received the knock...").

  they baptize in the name of the father, son and holy spirit.

  This is the most incredible part of the video, couched in the middle of all that guilt-tripping, fear, heavy handedness.

  "We are not able or willing, to tell you what to do....We are not masters over your faith." What a relief to know that! Now the hearers can rejoice in their glorious freedom to decide! Sheesh on a cracker!!

  Thanks for all the responses and helpful info. The one woman was very intelligent and knowledgeable. I would say she is probably one of their best and brightest. I believe she was anticipating how i would react to certain things, and adjusted the 'truth' accordingly. Maybe even getting a little worn down, and didn't want to face any more of those things head-on.

  They baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy SPirit. THey don't discourage college. The GB (FDS) is really not that big of a deal in dictating their lives, so why do i keep pressing that point? The 'door to door' hours are really not that big of a pressure or legalistic deal - after all, some are sick in bed and can't do it at all! -- THe Society encourages people to study the BIble on their own without publications or FDS guidance , people CAN come to the Truth just by reading the Bible on their own without the FDS.
