  I note that you avoided my question which was about how the WTS's policy protects against disease. I really am uninterested in your own stand on blood since that is irrelevant to WTS doctrine.

  The point is that your beloved Society's rules offer zero protection from diseases transmitted by blood because it approves of a JW accepting any part of blood. Thus, it can take no credit for supposedly protecting its followers through its teachings. Your clumsy attempt to muddy the waters is very typical of WT Legal.

  As usual, the WTS wants to have its cake and eat it too - it claims that JWs don't accept blood transfusions. That is correct in the sense that they don't take transfusions of whole blood. However, the WTS has succeeded in associating transfusions with blood borne disease as opposed to the blood itself. Transfusions themselves have become the bogey man as opposed to the blood itself. By allowing the medical uses of all blood parts in some form or other the GB affords JWs no protection from diseases transmitted by blood. Further, since their new teachings violate their own understanding of Acts 15 then they put people's health at risk without any basis in scripture or in medical science. That is criminal irresponsibility and amounts to issuing medical advice without having medical qualifications. Not only that but this "advice" is enforced by shunning. This is all done in a cowardly attempt to disguise the fact they very clearly do not speak for God.

  Face the facts Hilda-the-Trollette - you have no argument and your obfuscation is just plain lying. Lives are at risk from insane medical directives and predatory pedophiles and all you can do is try to save those old buffoons who think they speak for God. As AlanF says, one would think that your own self-interest would make you press for change. But, it may already be too late for that - in your case I confess that I hope it is.

  Please explain, precisely how the JW blood policy protects JWs from diseases transmitted by blood. Keep in mind that there is not a single part of blood that a JW cannot accept; while a JW is supposed to refuse intact blood cells he or she can accept preparations made from such cells, etc. A large number of the HIV infections related to blood were due to Factor VIII, which a JW can accept.

  On your other ridiculous argument; pedophilia is often the sexual abuse of pre-pubescent children. In one case that I know of a Ministerial Servant was routinely abusing girls as young as 3 and 4 years old. Of course, he was protected by the ludicrous WTS rules.

  It strikes me that you have crawled out of the woodwork to try to do some damage control for your cult, even though you seek to create the impression that you aren't a JW. However, as you are discovering, attempts at damage control in these areas fail totally - simply put, the WTS is a house of fools standing on a foundation of sand. Go home to the House, trollette.

  According to the WTS book Commentary on James there is no specific scripture that says that. So the excuse is that James was somehow giving the sense of what the Hebrew Scriptures say.

  It is odd how the JW posed the question, though.

  such an attack would of course result in swift and terrible retaliation and the likey annihilation of most of the arab world and then some.

  whether or not that proves to be the exact scenario that's played out, it must be admitted that the climate for the sudden outbreak of a nuclear storm has never been so favorable.

  in my very first post i mentioned meeting the above and promised to relate my experiences - such as they are.. actually i have had a nasty chest cold/virus all wk and have not really felt well so please forgive the delay.. the meeting with ewart chitty took place in the virgin islands circa 1980/1981.

  i believe he was on an expenses paid trip to the islands,nothing official,and the local cong.persuaded him to give a talk.the brother who introduced him made a big play of having a member of the governing body visiting us but before starting his talk chitty stated that he had recently stepped down as a member of the gb.. he then proceeded to give a run-of-the-mill unremarkale discourse.the next day he spent in field service with us and came to my house for lunch.at lunch he made a statement that left me thunderstruck at the time.. he said,"i don't get to anything like five meetings a week.i havn't for years.

  " i remember it with crystal clarity - i can assure everyone that is an exact quote.i remember thinking that if any member of the congregation had said that he/she would have been in line for some serious counseling.yet here was a recent member of the gb saying that he didn't get to all the meetings.he seemed amazed when i told him that i actually made it ok to all of them.. that afternoon i worked with him in field service and was struck by something that seemed to hit me whenever i worked with a so called "bigwig" whether co,do or gb.

  after reviewing all the great information on the internet and on this board, and with much praying and bible reading, i have made up my mind to stop studying.

  i have written a letter to the sister i have been studying with explaining why (cowardly, i know but that's kinda the way i am)i have packed up all the books i've been given (what to do with them?

  You'll find that they won't burn. Plaese don't try gasoline as you'll only hurt yourself. The only sensible approach is to find the cast iron pendulum from an old grandfather clock (which must be at least 150 years old), and enaase the books, together with the pendulum in a box of cherry wood or oak, and sink the lot in your nearest lake at dead of night.

  BAsed on past history, in 2 decades the WTS will be a shell of its former self. After all, the best predictor of tomorrow's waether is today's. And, looking back, today's WTS is a shell of its former self 20 years ago - and a rather hollow one at that.

  By the selfsame token, Robert the Dopey Head will be spouting his nonsense this coming October right on cue. He seems to get all riled up about a month after an equinox. Fascinating, actually.

  evolution is not the answer to most of the important questions about life and how it got here.. if current evolutionary ideas are true they only tell a very small part of the story.. simply how random changes to animate and inanimate things can be mechanicly selected by sutible enviroments and prosper in them.. there is still lots about us to explain.. what is the source of the matter in our universe, what caused the "big bang"?.

  what is consciousness and how does it work?.

  what causes the fundemental forces and how do they work?.
