I'll pray for u.

ok it's no secret my mother is seriously ill. the neighbors and friends who have grown to love her are constantly asking for updates.

at the end of virtually every conversation is stated, i'll pray for her or some other mention of divine request.. in the other corner are the multitide of jw's i've known and helped over the years.

no mention of prayers.. i know it's obvious but the love from heritics clearly out paces "the friends".. i'm just annoyed that's all.. .

ok, so i've been doing my homework on the average practices of your reg pioneer and am trying to find out exactly how much of my personal information was "reported" by my ex-study friend, and exactly where it went and why they didn't ask for my permission first!

now i do get that who ever i was studing with/being converted by, would need to know my adress in order to get my place (as an avon rep a few years ago i kept a list of my clients details to deliver their items) and would likely keep a list of a few questions i had to better prepare for the next discussion we have, but why would it be necessary to pass my "private" information on to and elder and then on again to somewhere else from there every week/month?????.

i have seen a 'blank' version of these report cards (ministrygallery.com) and yeah iam somewhat pissed off!!!

REALLY?? you know i have this vauge memory of a few of the elders already knowing my name and basics on my first visit to the local KH. I had at this point never spoken to or met them before- one even asked "so where are your children today?"- before I even mentioned I was a mother! please explain???

It's likely your JW 'friend' (fact: there's no such thing if you're a 'worldly person') was telling other JWs about her 'great experience' studying with you. That would be why people who you didn't know already knew about you.

this is podcast 8 in the death or obedience series.. this was recorded on christmas day 2008.. after our last visit from two local elders my wife felt she could no longer be known as a jehovah's witness and had chosen to disassociate herself in november 2008.. we had been on a family holiday and had returned to find that one of the local elders who had visited us had warned off my mother-in-law from having anything to do with my wife - her daughter.

he also made false statements about one of my children.. i decided to confront this elder at the kingdom hall.

this podcast is the recording of our conversation.. notice how he denies making such statements to my mother-in-law and falsely accuses me of teaching her beliefs contrary to jehovah's witnesses.. i ask whether it's a sin to no longer be a jehovah's witness?.

I just listened in to the meeting and Ronnie did the last talk. He was asking why the kingdom hall was the place to be on Memorial night this year. People had to be there apparently to see the stark contrast between JWs and the people they normally rub shoulders with in the world. They had to go away with the impression that "these people", (JWs), are different.
He then went on to relate an experience of a brother talking to someone in the ministry and related how the man said, "You people think you're always right". The brother responded by saying to him, "Do you not think that you're right?" He went on about how good an answer this was and then said, " You know brothers, do you know that that man was wrong in saying that. He was wrong to say that we think we're right." Do you know why he was wrong? Because JWs don't THINK they're right....we KNOW we're right !"
God help us!

A couple of things.

Firstly, the commemoration of Christ's death is now officially recognised by Ronnie Hunter of Bishopbriggs Congregation as nothing more than a PR exercise.

Secondly, his "we know we're right" statement is classic bluff and fluff from a polished, experienced public speaker. It's the sort of nonsense salesmen pitch all the time. Oh wait, what did he used to do for a living?

A lot of people scoff at the idea of praying for someone. However, even if it doesn't work and it's all a lot of nonsense, does it hurt anyone?

It's an offer of comfort and for many, many people there's something built into them that acknowledges that there are times to go to the source of life in prayer.

If you want to PM me your mother's name a bit about her current circumstances, I'll pray for her too.

so a good friend of mine e-maild me today with this information.

aparently brother hurd says as of 2010 all the magazine printing and distribution will be moved to canada.

the only printing the us will do is the books.

BTW, Britain Branch deals with the printing and shipping of literature to Central Africa. I don't have my old note book to hand, but at one of my last CO visits we were told how much it costs and it's serious ££££££££.

How long will it be before Africa is cut out of the loop?

I love these guys. If baptism is needed to be granted everlasting life, notice that one of the deciding factors for whether a 'retarded' person can be baptised is whether or not they can be punished .

Jehovah's Witnesses, please wake up, open your eyes and see the spirit flowing through the Kingdom Halls. Does it match this spirit?

Galations 5: 22 On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is l ove, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Time to tell my whole story.

i've decided that i'm going to write about my life as a jw and how i broke free of the organisation.

i've approached a magazine with regards to doing a monthly story on my walk to freedom.

this is in no way meant as payback, but rather as a means to educate people about this faith and what it does to those trapped in.. i may be calling on some of you (if you don't mind) for clarification on doctrine as i have become a bit fuzzy as to what is what.
