here are my thoughts.. it is pretty obvious that there was no global flood 4,000 years ago.

Straw man. The flood being global or is not is not the means to discredit the whole Bible. Eg. should the fact that some of Dawkins research and hypothesis into and of genes is being shown to be outdated discredit all of his research?
Is there empirical evidence that a flood of the Mesopotamian basin did not take place?

If you don't believe in God, and by extension believe religion to be a powerless shell of a sham, surely that would be the end of the matter. Excuse us theists for pointing out the silly superstitious nature of atheists being de-baptised.

in one of my early posts, i said that there wasn't any molestation cases that i knew of in the congregations in my area.
well all that has changed.
in the last few months i have learned that a man whom i have known since i was a little kid, and who hung around my older brothers and sisters has been molesting childred for years.
No wonder he kept doing it.

many here have abandoned the bible as "the word of god" and there are numerous reasons for said abandonment.
however what i am interested in finding out is if the bible is the word of god, then what would you expect to find?.

Following on from the JW Scottish Assembly posts - I was thinking of writing to St. Johnstone Football Club (who rent out their stadium to the JWs for the convention) if they realise exactly who they are renting to.
In particular do they want to be associated with such an organisation that (insert policies etc here) Any feedback?
