  the drama was really ridicolous, man, but i noticed, in some of the jw objected to it as well,.

  first of all my wife, she said it doesnt feel right, and she strongly disliked the music (she has no idea of my being at this forum btw).

  then some friends, who also complained about it, but just to us, because they know, we do not judge them for their questions and almost doubts on some things.... i m sure there were more, but they just dont think out loud, and keep it to themselves.... anybody similar experiences ?.

  hobo ken and i were chatting about this yesterday.. the wts has past experience of losing vast numbers of members very quickly.

  from their post-25 and post-75 experiences they will know how best to prepare their organisational structure to remain afloat when they experience another exodus.. we're only 5 years from the 100 year anniversary of ct russell walking into the dining room and announcing the gentile times had ended.

  since then, millions of people have molded and adjusted their lives and personal expectations based on the date 1914. the wts must know that 2015 is going to bring with it one or two upset jws.... so, is the wts preparing for a mass exodus right now?.

  Surely a smaller body of believers of say 3 million hard-core "how high?" jumpers is preferable to a sprawling, mostly ambivalent 7 million? Hey, with a small hard core group they could introduce tithing!

  hey've been manouvering away from 1914 for some time now. It would be a very big mistake if they think they could recover from a mass exodus this time around, the internet is their nemesis and they know it.

  I agree that they had been moving away from 1914. However, at the DC this year there were at least two manuscript talks where 1914 was very much front and centre!

  A "possible suicide" results in no JW support

  a co-worker of mine whose, wife and daughters are jehovahs witnesses, told me about situation that his oldest daughter finds abhorrent.

  he said that a close friend of his daughter was found dead in a car the other day.

  she was in her early 30's and had been a lifelong jw.

  I was at a church service for a suicide victim a couple of years ago. The first words out of the minister's mouth were "there's no point in us trying to understand why..."

  This flies in the face of the WTS stance, namely they need to have an answer for everything. Therefore, pretend that the unanswerable questions don't exist.

  The WTS can't handle suicides. Remember, JWs are the happiest people on the planet and they reside in a spiritual paradise. So you can forget the dead person being remember fondly or their family being helped and supported; the dead person has brought disgrace on Jehovah.

  The biggest issue the WTS is faced with re. suicides is finding a big enough rug to sweep it under.

  - downsizing publication output

  - downsizing headquarter and branch staff

  - not even trying to fight the issues they're facing in Spain; simply shutting up shop

  - downsizing meetings

  - consolidating congregations, selling of Kingdom Halls

  - closing operations in Brooklyn

  They surely must have learned from past experience that when they've failed to manage their client's expectations, they lose members. They will know that they can't afford to have a bloated, overly expensive corporation - especially during the financial crisis - when people just stop coming to the meetings in 2015...

  para 2 "today, what a pleasure it is to be associated with a worldwide organization whose members follow the pattern set by first century christians.

  This could have been written about my wife. She "stopped serving Jehovah" and it appeared on the outside that she was "firmly grounded in the truth".

  The reality was she was following a false prophet and when she read Luke 21:8 she realised she needed to find the truth.

  Like the "sister" in the article, all of her closest friends, some who were like sisters, were typically judgement in the way that only JWs know how.
