Thanks Blondie. Still doesn't answer the question as to what, exactly, he's been doing since 1914.

Question about how long Jesus 1000 year reign is?
by jwfacts init appears that the watchtower teaches that the 1000 year reign starts after armageddon, which makes sense.
(revelation 20:6) .
.happy and holy is anyone having part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no authority, but they will be priests of god and of the christ, and will rule as kings with him for the thousand years.

It's interesting that one of the only refs. that Blondie could find (or perhaps the only one she felt like posting - please advise!) is from 1952, over 55 years ago. Why would the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society not talk a lot more about the wonderful intricacies of the the Bible's clear and unambiguous information on the exact nature of Christ's reign from 1914?
To put it in simple terms, why don't they tell us what Christ has been doing exactly since 1914? (Other than hand over his 'earthly belongings' in 1919.)
If the part of Christ's reign we're living under right now isn't part of the 1000 years, then which Bible verses tell us what Christ is doing as ruler over the earth at this very moment?

We've laughed about this often. However, the Watchtower apologist work-around would be that while Christ is reigning in heaven now, the 1000 year reign marks a very particular and unique part of Jesus' heavenly king-ship. Of course, there's no scriptural support for this, but then that's not particularly unusual, is it?

"Something in the congregation is hindering the flow of Jehovah's holy spirit" - witch hunt JW style?
by slimboyfat inhas anyone else experienced something like this?.
in my mother-in-law's congregation a special pioneer was recently moved to the congregation and he gave a talk where he said he and the other elders felt there was a bad spirit in the congregation and there must be something going on that is preventing jehovah's holy spirit from operating properly.
but he didn't state explicity what the problem might be and now gossip is rife in the congregation about whether there might be a sinner or a traitor in their midst.. for many this is just the excuse they need to gossip and bad mouth others.

What JWs fail to grasp about the Holy Spirit is that it isn't restricted to operating at a corporate or congregational level. Paul tells us that the Holy Spirit dwells within us and operates through us producing its fruitage in our lives. JWs are led to believe that this only applies to the 144,000.
JWs are taught that the congregation has the spirit, when according to the Bible it's the individuals. So, if a congregation has a bad spirit it's because it's full of imperfect people who are denied proper access to God's gift of the Holy Spirit in their lives.

Re podcast and hardware; keep me posted and I'll help as best as I can. Be sure to have Skype installed on your computer too so that we can arrange a 'round-table' style chat. An inexpensive USB headset is also useful.

I hear you.
My son was playing the Wii yesterday and came across the little 'person' his JW cousin had created on the system. He asked his mum if he should delete the character as his cousin isn't allowed to come to our house anymore.
A little later he went into a really aggressive bad mood, started crying and hid under his bed covers.
He sees his JW cousins very rarely, only at carefully arranged visits at my mother-in-law's home. His cousins live on the same street as us.
What the WTS does is called 'relational aggression', it's a form of 'covert bullying' and psychological abuse. -

"Jehovah Provides Direction to the Slave"
by passwordprotected infeb 15th 2009 wt pgs 24,25. .
par 4 - subheading "jehovah trusts the slave".
after quoting ps32:8 (ot)"i shall certainly make you have insight..", the paragraph claims that jehovah provides direction to the slave, stating "we can therefore have full confidence in the scriptural insight, understanding and guidance that we receive from the slave.".

@ nathan;
In other words, they don't know what they're talking about. On that we agree. Why then should I give any consideration to what they have to say?
Exactly. It's a shame the JWs can't join the dots. The whole thing is right there hidden in plain sight.
