@ Gill; the infamous WT study article of 2007 "Counted Worthy.." or something like that (you know, the one that bigs up the governing body) has a bizarre paragraph about learning obedience so that in the new world we'll follow the instructions of the Master.
The paragraph had no scriptures and it's down right creepy.

Interesting. Does he give specific examples among WTS literature etc?
finally i got my chance to see what a witness was made of on the phone yesterday.. .
her opening line was "we haven't been able to reach you at your door, so that's why we're calling (barefaced lie as we have had witnesses call latey who even came back for a return visit but that's besty's story...).
we had a lively but ultimately very frustrating conversation.
@ steve2 - it's probably worth pointing out that Sweat Pea has a 'charming' English accent. She currently resides in the States. Combine the typical anglophile American with an apostate talking with a quaint English accent and you may conclude that Sweat Pea could have gotten away with saying much, much more...

It will happen as the WTS becomes more and more desperate to hold onto members, recruit new members and legally establish itself in as many countries as possible.
i found this to be pretty unsuccessful during my time since i was a jw.
i actually had my interest sparked with the jw's by family members and freinds that were jw's.. were you a statistic of the knock at the door?.
In my 36 years as a JW, including several years as a pioneer, I only made one convert. It wasn't through door-to-door though. I found the d-t-d work extremely frustrating and ineffective.

the preaching work is banned in communist countries such as china(which have over 1.3 billion people) and korea.
there might be underground preaching work but not enough to even cause a concern.. my question: how does the wts explain what will happen to all these people who will never hear their message?
As I started to awaken to my WTS doubts, I was on holiday and picked up a copy of one of Michael Palin's books in a second hand shop. I remember reading it and realising there were literally billions of people throughout Asia who have never heard of the Watchtower magazine. Interestingly, the WTS does not use the internet - surely a technology unimaginable back in the 60s - in any meaningful way to preach the 'good news', it instead relies on knocking doors on Saturday mornings. Yep, that oughta do it.
