I am quite astounded that you cannot see such an obvious parallel.
And these people were forced to be baptised? C'mon.

JW Defenders- Is WTS Right to Insist You Stay Away From these Websites?
by OnTheWayOut ini read these threads and there are a few that bend over backwards to say why wts is correct on this issue or that issue.. they act like typical jw's that refuse to acknowledge points that may show that wts is not following the scriptures or that wts goes beyond the scriptures in a way that is not supported by others.. the point could be the blood issue or shunning or whether 1799 or 1914 was the start (or finish?
) of the last days or whether there is a faithful and discreet slave class or not.
i don't want to harp on each point.

Spike, the only people who can answer your questions are your Watch Tower leaders as they are the ones who make the rules.

i'll not rush out to get myself debaptised though, it would be like giving the first time round credence
And that with I think we've hit on the core issue.
As I've already said, it's a bit like sending Santa a letter to tell him you don't believe in him anymore.

Well, having seen the responses I will have to go with totally lacking in empathy. Given the depth of feeling exhibited on this site toward a religion that the majority on here freely joined, you would think there would be at least some sympathy for those who show similar depth of feeling regarding a religion they had no choice in 'joining' How very un-christian.
So you're comparing adults who are grieved over their parents having them baptised as infants with people who were in a high control cult but who have left and are probably being shunned by their family? Is that a reasonable comparison to make?
Quite why you expect empathy to be shown to people going through some sort of ritualistic de-baptism is puzzling.

That I do agree with. People believe what they want to believe, in spite of evidence to the contrary.
Yeah, I see that all the time.

Isn't it just like God to pass the buck and blame his creation for his own screw up?
No. He sent Jesus to show us who he is. And Jesus wasn't created.

I wonder if God is up in heaven slapping his forehead and telling Jesus, "Look, Mr Word of God, you should have done it the way they're saying! That's where we've gone wrong!"

If there was no global flood - does this mean that the Bible is not inspired?
by Olin Moyles Ghost indo you agree that if there was no global flood, then the bible is not inspired?
here are my thoughts.. it is pretty obvious that there was no global flood 4,000 years ago.
) that there were one or more large local floods in mesopotamia around the time of noah.

We need to get away from worshiping the Book and instead we must form a living personal relationship with God. Place bibliolatry where it belongs and become personally and intimately involved with God, through the personal holy spirit. Use the Scriptures to allow the holy spirit develop that relationship with God.
Great point.
God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit...not God the Holy Bible.
