I would do it
If I got the choice
of where the hand would be located
Think about it
All the things you could do
in secret, but in plain site

i haven't been to a meeting in over a year, my husband longer, but he came with me to the dc last year to help me with our 4 children ( our youngest was one).
that was the last thing either of us have attended.
we have a trip planned and come home the wednesday before the dc and he does ont want to go, nor will i force him to.
Just tell them NO
remind them that your No means NO
That they should understand
Jamie summed it nicely
Welcome Ray
From all of us
after reading a couple of posts about getting rid of publications, i finally got the courage to do it.
i went home and cleaned them all out.
they were on a shelf in my garage being apartment buildings for wasps nests!!!!.
The physical clutter is by far
the easiest to rid yourself of.
The more difficult is the mental
debris that is tucked tight into
every nook and cranny of your psyche.
That stuff seems to grow claws and latch
tightly to whatever emotion is nearby
Since JW life literally touched each and
every aspect of our lives, it will take some
time to root it all out and dispose of it.
Each and every crumb missed while purging
has been known to pop up like a weed at
the most unexpected times.
Today it all begins
Get out your mental "Roundup"
Those weeds are nasty!
i'm new to the board, just signed up today.. i grew up going to garland, mesquite and white rock/lake highlands congregations.
stopped associating with the jw's in the early 90's.
i'd like to meet up with some people who attended in the same areas and catch up on old times, i.e.
Welcome Buster
well since the world was always going to come to an end i never really studied much finance.
anyone have any good advice on getting started?
any good books that help?
The wife is a CFP (Certified Financial Planner)
a CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
and 7 or 8 other Initials behind her name.
Thank you very much - I paid for her schooling.
Anyway, get a good Planner, fee based
Don't pay a percentage
It's easy to get hosed, be careful
Start watching CNBC, or whatever financial tv is available
Get a subscription to Investors Business Daily
Get a good mutual fund - no load
There are a lot of factors involved in investing
That's why you need a planner
A good one will ask a LOT of questions
If they don't, move on
There aren't any short cuts
ok, so i have been thinking about my time as a jw (i'm fading out - read my other posts for background info).
you know how you always hear how the ministry will bring so much joy and contentment, yadda yadda yadda?
i always hated service...always!!
I was born into it.
I think I felt joy once.....
for about 5 seconds.
It was the time I, no wait,
that wasn't me that happend to.
Damn it
No never. Completely joyless experience
my oldest daughter (who is currently up in ct) just called to tell me my stepmother (wicked witch of the west) was in an accident yesterday evening.
she was riding a moped and crashed it into a parked car (don't ask me what an overweight 53 year old woman with bad knees is doing on a moped but whatever...supposed to save on the cost of gas or something).
anyway...she shattered her right leg and wrist in the accident (her good walking side) and apparently will never be the same.
I've always been of the opinion
that you should never let someone's
actions unduly influence your nature.
If you do, they win.
Go with your nature
If the other person isn't moved by your action
at least you were true to yourself
Course............
I could be wrong
Hi
Welcome
Wish I was 23 again
That was about the age I left
No internet or forums then however
Too bad for me
Real good for you
on another thread i asked: .
"f i do not renounce my atheism, repent and start believing in and worshipping the christian god, what will happen to me?".
i do not want your judgement or your opinion i want to know what your church/faith teaches on the subject or the fate of unbelievers.. no platitudes, please.
In the first half of my life as a JW.......
YOUR DEAD!!
Now.......<shrug>
