i have gone through various emotions including anger at the wtbts for all that i went through while growing up only to be disfellowshipped at 22.. my net result is a dead father due to the blood issue and a split family and, of course, years of wasted time.. i would like to say, however, that i am not angry with all witnesses and i am not a conspiracist who believes the leaders have a hidden agenda.. i believe that informed persons should be able to join the witnesses if they believe it is right for them.. what i hate though is the fact that thousands of children, like i was, are still indoctrinated from birth.
they are told "we don't baptise babies because they are too young to choose it for themselves.
" but in reality, what choice are you really giving a child who by the age of 13 would have experienced: 3380 hours of meetings, 832 hours of larger assemblies, possibly 1560 hours of field service, at least 2028 hours of personal study (watchtower, book study and personal study) and more importantly, what choice does a child have who is told they have an open mind but who is never allowed examine religions or persons with opposing views?.
any of you who have ever read the electrifying book by john krakauer into thin air, that related the tragic events of 1998 expedition to conquer everest, will appreciate this work in progress song.
it needs polishing and you will need to turn up the volume.. it is named 'ghosts of the ascent'.

according to a jw contact i have who just visited an asia pacific country, jw missionaries have been permitted to fly free aboard un flights.
can anyone else check into/confirm this... i am currently trying with my sources to get more information on this.. could be there were some financial benefits to un association after all!.
I have just checked with a long term African Missionary and he has heard nothing of this - not that it is an impossibility, but this issue is best treated with kid gloves until the facts are known.
there's a running debate i have going with my wife.
i have the opinion that it is very possible for married people to have friends of the opposite sex without the idea of a sexual encounter entering into the picture.
she disagrees, saying that once you're married, the marriage mate should be enough to offer you all you need in the way of companionship, conversation,etc.. let's say you're running an errand at the mall and happen to see someone of the opposite sex that you have known for years (your mate knows/doesn't know them... doesn't matter) and you decide to grab a cup of coffee and have a two-hour chat.
As a person, I am the kind of guy who gets many female friends who like to be with me and spend time with me, and I do like their company. I would never have a sexual relationship with such a friend, unless it developed into a real romantic relationship over time (which I can only have with one person at the time anyway). A pretty girl I met randomly on the town would surely be a greater "risk" in that sense.
As there are only 12 women in Norway ( at least I only noticed 12 when I was last there ) and 11 of them are Kent's girlfriends I think your post is more imagination that reality!

Written by imho one of the most underrated lyricists/musicians in the US. He is admired and has written with and for Dylan, Jackson Browne ( he wrote 'The Road' on the 'Running On Empty' album ) and others.
I will pass your comments on to the artist - if they are positive!
every so often someone starts a thread asking for amusing wts anecdotes.
i always enjoy them, so lets have another.
i will start the thread with a tale of thwarted minions and district conventions.. during a session i left my seat and stood at the back of the concourse.
One sister I know sat in the deaf section. A brother walked up to her and asked if she should be there. She said "Uh???", not catching the question properly.. He apologised, nodded and walked away?
I once knew a wily old-timer from the Croydon area, with perfect hearing who would sit in the deaf section to get a more comfortable seat. After a few years the military wing of the WTS ( the attendants ) caught on, I guess he was 'turned in'. Unfortunately by this time he had truly lost his hearing, but imagine the battle at the Assembly at Crystal Palace one year when they tried to remove him during the session.
Poor old blighter must have thought he was being kidnapped and let out a number of blood curdling screams frightening enough to level the All Blacks.
Okay, listen up. Those of us who joined during the first months of the board's existence are comparable to the Apostles.....yes, this includes both myself and Waiting.
lol. Sort of like the 'twelve foundation mounting-blocks'.
Wise and compassionate words Kent. I just wanted to join Kent and others in offering my support and best wishes to you. My email address is open should you need help.
