It is a subliminal image that represents the thinking of the GB.
Seriously now, I understand that the Brother who drew the image was not very good at drawing horses but he was enthusiastic.

Hi Pureheart,
I will take you off-site for this discussion as it would probably would not interest that many people.

This is a Bible research forum started recently by Ros. Under the link 'Dating Of Revelation' which I started some while ago, Carl Jonssonn gives you a good starting point for research. You need to subscribe to converse, but it is a most enlightening subject.

Yes, Mox, but you seem to miss the chronological nuances involved in understanding the antitypical nature of the average Vesuvian explosion, which you must admit bear uncanny resemblance to the typical shakings of the Mt. Sinai class, who were released from prison after Rutherfords famous nasal trumpet blast, one of seven, which pictures......
Confused? Congratulations, this way to the Baptism pool, that way to the rub-adub-dub.

ever been in a situation where you start to feel a certain affinity with a poster?.
i have, quite recently i began to take particular notice of one posters writings, and i thought to myself - 'that fella has got his head screwed on!'.
a week or so later said "fella" made a reference to her husband!

Hello Pureheart,
please dissect this one for me.
Harder than one would think in that the whole issue suggests a perfect cameo of WTS theological dissonance in action.
I have no doubt that this QFR developed from an attempt to appease both Jaracz whose preference is for a chronological manipulation to keep the old views intact, with the more progressive PR motivated Legal, who wish to 'get out of the chronology game' as one of them put it to me recently.
As such neither camp can be intellectually satisfied by the explanation above, very few JW's really understand the view that the the WTS now has about the meaning of 'generation', which has shifted to define any generation who happen to be alive to see the the signs alluded to in Matthew 24 of impending Armaggedon.
This scripture and the one you mention in John, and many others dealing with imminent apocalyptic events are best understood exactly as Jesus spoke them, without an interpretive spin put on them. The early Christians lived in the end times of the Jewish nation. The end happened within their generation, this was the one Jesus was warning them about.
Evidence seems to be growing that questions the validity of a post Jerusalem date for the writing of the Revelation. Write me if you wish to know more about this.

i'm hoping you all can help.. an active jehovah's witness joined us in chat tonight and was dismayed that this site slams witnesses for trying to follow the bible in matters such as disfellowshipping.
this chatter feels that many people here complain about the society's policies without offering evidence that the policies are without scriptural backing.. i must be at work very early monday morning, so i could not stay in chat as long as i wished.
i told the chatter i would start this thread so that s/he could gather information and opinions from several sources.. in chat i was trying to present a point that i remembered from in search of christian freedom, about how disfellowshipping was meant to be a personal choice, not a decision forced on the congregation by a small committee.
YK,
Hey, Bozo! The Society knows me and they know what I do on the net. There's no hypocrisy on my part.
Right and wrong. My information, which I trust, is that the WTS does know you but they do not know what you 'do on the net'.
Would you like to publicly call me out on this one YK?

YK,
Franz is an idiot.
Mmm...I shall have to seriously consider this option, especially given your own personal experience in the matter.
Actually YK, you are correct. The early Christian church did seem to have a manner of discipling its adherents.
The question is whether it remotely resembles the model established and operated by the WTS. Have they gone beyond scriptual precedents?

Ginny,
Just to make a very small addition ( time compromised at present! ) to Richie's point regarding the man thought to be involved in an incestuous relationship probably with his step-mother and described in the scriptures noted above.
Paul’s 1st letter, suggesting that Christians might not seek fellowship with such a person was written in 55CE while he was in Ephesus.
Paul’s 2nd letter again written from Ephesus that same year and suggested that the man had ceased his incestuous relationship and Paul encouraged his friends to take him back in friendship lest he become overly saddened.
Given the traveling required to deliver these letters to the congregation in Cornith, and to receive news back, and given that they were both written the same year, we have to conclude that this situation must have been dealt with in a few short months, perhaps even weeks. This is the only practical case contained in scripture that seems to indicate a process being enacted to discipline adherents in the early church.
No restrictions, judicial committees, announcements, just a simple and rapid re-affirmation of Brotherhood once the immorality had ceased. The WTS has gone way beyond the bounds of scripture and actually developed a system that bears more resemblance to a political trial than a theological aid.

[h3]here is the watchtower's official explanations on the un scandal![/h3.
the letter is, naturally - on the watchtower observer as well!.

Lookin,
It takes a big heart to make such an apology, thank you.
As for the confusion and pain, we have all been there, it is a tough call, but you will survive.
Mail me if you need to talk.
Kind regards - HS
i personally spoke to a brother who works in public affairs dept @ headquarters.
the dept was formed back in 1991-92 to help with media events worldwide.. at that time, the idea was to have access to current worldwide information.
this would allow brothers to assist and have a better grasp on worlwide situations.. however- many many in the group did not agree that this association should take place!!
Lookin,
That they are fully aware of the situation! Almost said it in a way of rolling his eyes-like they new this would happen yrs ago by the brothers who did not want this to happen.
I suspect that the 'rolling of eyes' is due more to amazement at the fuss made over the issue, which really is small pickings compared to what they know they are sitting on.
The WTS/UN/NGO issue is rather like Vincenzo Gambini being indicted for a parking offence, a pesky nuisance but worrying to them as it shows the net slowly closing in.
