  You are forgetting the ones that they have already flung the gauntlet at. You know......Vietnam (Oh dear 'Nuff said), Iran hostage (Oh dear - our hearts were in the right place but our helicopters were not), Beirut (Oh deary - we tried didn't we!!), Grenada (God, we won but lets face it, they only had 12 bore shotguns and were out of cartridges! ), Panama (not bad - bagged a spotty dictator by playing rock music until he begged for mercy. ), Libya (not bad killed Gaddafi's kid), Haiti (oops! - someone left the script in the studio not realizing John Wayne was already dead), Somalia ( wellllll..... Black-Hawk-Can't But Hollywood Can..... )

  Playing next week - US 12th Cavalry Invade Aix les Bains', starring some diminutive scientologist, some old bleached-haired whore, and a man who killed his wife and her friend and got away with it, in "We Get Paid Immoral Amounts For This Utter Crap And You Suckers Love It'.

  others will underdsand why I posted what I did. I have seen Iranians referred to on this site as "Arabs' so often, your post is misdirected.

  That is amazing , but not so much as when George Wyer can not even distinguish between The Republic of China and The People's Republic of China.

  lol...Oh really! I think you have just proved that you do not. Subtlety is a requirement of a rounded education Burn. You may have been a 'clever' JW. but that does not make you so in the real world.

  The ignorance that you describe goes to the very top. A Presidential candidate recently said we needed more Arabic translators to help efforts in Afghanistan. But that is not the point.

  That is EXACTLY the point. Read my post in context and you will understand just how much of the point that this was.

  The point is that you would find less resistance on here to your ideas if you were less patronizing. You are obviously very intelligent, and even if often misguided, you are sometimes right.

  lol....I hear the sound of the Burn The Patronizing sucking eggs. What you do not seem to ever be able to take on board Burn is that my posts do care for 'resistence' or for the lack of it. They are either right or wrong. The problem you are having is that you do not like the delivery of my posts but you cannot fault their content, much to your eternal frustratuon. I do not care whether they are resisted or not. If the information is incorrect, then it falls, if it is correct then it stands.

  Every so often there is a grain of trutyh in the mountain of blustery chaff that pollutes your posts.

  You are more than welcome to try to prove any post that I have made on this Board in seven years as lacking the 'grain of truth' that seems to mean so much to you....on the internet at least. I am willing to defend the evidence in every post that I have ever made on JWD, including those that I have written that indicate that you are intellectually lazy.

  Incidentally, since the subject seems so near and dear to you, there is a restive Arabic minority in southern Iran as well as a Kurdish area in the north of the country that is contiguous to the same ethnicity in Iraq. Iran is not a homogenous country, you know?

  LOL...You seem to have found a new web site to explore. You are so bloody predictable Burn. can you not understand that the game is up on your posts. Your pin-ball intellectualism will only impress those who are new to reading your posts. To late for fame matey!

  If you read your website carefully, which I doubt you have as the first three sentences of anything you quote seems to be all that holds your attention, you will note that minorities in Iran are not viewed as part of Iranian history. Just find out where the 'minority' Arab peoples actually came from you plonker! I am speaking of Iranian history and its peoples. Read past line three and return Burn.

  God, you are easy. You seem to have had it more together before your enforced Sabbatical. Where were you? Disneyland with Who Are You? You have certainly lost your edge.

  Thank you for the history and geography lesson HS. If it wasn't for you we'd all still think they are all ragheaded sandfarming cameljockeys.

  lol....Here you are again, pretending that information that is new to you was in fact well esconced in that brain of yours.

  You think on your feet, I will give you that. The problem is that everybody knows your modus operandi by now Burn, and statements such as the one that I quote above fall on unimpressed eyes these days. We all know you for an intellectual scavenger, but you are cute too.

  As my statement was made against the backdrop of the amazing ignorance of many Americans with regard to Middle Eastern, and other foreign affairs, as can be clearly evidenced almost daily on this site, others will underdsand why I posted what I did. I have seen Iranians referred to on this site as "Arabs' so often, your post is misdirected.

  The Iranians have more in common with the majority of Iraqis than they do with Saudi Arabia who share the a different form if Islam.

  Another important thing that is also frequently missed in this equation is that Iranians, unlike Iraqi's are NOT Arab. They are completely different race viewing themselves as second only to China as an ancient oriental civilization. The average Iranian historically views the average Arab Iraqi as rather suspect and primitive compared to themselves.

  The US invasion succeeded in doing something that T.E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) warned against decades beforehand. He argued that a frontal attack against ANY nation in the Middle East by a Western army would only succeed in uniting the normally rancourous factions to focus on the one common enemy attacking them. This is what has happened in Iraq, with previously bitter enemies putting aside ideologies and mustering their forces against an 'infidel' invader.

  It is only in recent times with the mass defection of Sunnis who were previously fighting with Al Quaeda and who turned against them, that coalition forces began to see less casualties.

  The Sunnis however have stated publicly that once they have defeated Al Quaeda, they will turn their attention back on the colation forces until they leave Iraq.

  I wrote this post just as the US invaded Iraq and my views have not changed:

  As you are probably aware I am not against war, I am against war being used before the last resort. I am yet to be convinced that the Coalition and its Foreign Intelligence Services knew what they doing when they stuck their noses into a wasps nest. I believe that the repercussions of this war for tomorrow’s world are not going to bring the positive changes to the Middle East that both Blair and Bush perceive, but I hope I am very wrong. I traveled throughout the Middle East many years ago and found that my perceptions of the people who live their had been grossly influenced by a misguided Western view. They simply do not perceive and understand most things in Western terms and are as alien to the West in their thinking as the Far East is. It seems that often what we are trying to do in the Middle East is to force people who inhabit that area to think like Westerners. I can tell you, you would have more success packing sawdust than attaining to this. The beheading of women, the maiming and torture of individuals did not start in Iraq, it is a centuries old way of life and is not all that the Arab or Oreintal culture and life is about!

  A clued in diplomatic corps, an intelligence service based on French or UK structures, and politicians who would be well advised to switch off 'The Waltons' and read a history book every now and again. Foreign policies are built on an understanding of the thinking of people outside ones own national boundaries. There seems to be an historical attitude that prevails in US Government circles that the whole world is either American or aspiring to be so when they grow up.

  They do exist.

  In which case, why do they not do something useful for a change rather than floating around, disappearing through walls and making loud sounds all night. If they can do that, surely they can clean my car for me, or feed the cat, or perhaps vacuum my office, which really needs it this morning. As it is they are a waste of ethereal space.

  Of course they do not exist, at least not outside of overactive imaginations.

  she has this bubbly smile and oozes of confidence and good things that just warm the heart.

  Chris and Nina are two of the strongest, most reasonable and gracious XJW's that I have met online these past years.

  Unlike many couples, who sadly get too used to the reasons that each married the other within a few years of the wedding bells, these two have stayed in love. Never the gushy 'cuddly' types online, yet you always know that you can rely on them for all the most important things in life.

  Apart from that, they are both liars and thieves.

  atonement over the years since leaving the wt, i have found the doctrine of the atonement to be one of the major litmus tests for determining christianity and apostate christianity.

  the roman catholic church has transsubstantiation and the sacraments for salvation (among other things) and the wt simply rejects christ each year formally at the memorial.

  the wt spin on the ransom negates the need for an actual exchange to take place with our savior.

  I know Perry has his agenda. I know some people read this and I want them to think. My goal isn't to change Perry's viewpoint. For my part, while I disagree with Perry's point of view, I think it good to have conversations with different people like Perry. I want to ask questions, and insofar as Perry and others are willing to put out there what they believe in a forum like this, then I have the opportunity to present my beliefs in comparison.

  Yes, I understand where you are coming from. The problem is that Perry does not have viewpoints, he is just here to preach what God has told him to preach. By 'God', I am speaking chemically of course ;). He is seeking religiously confused people who are emotionally vunerable, having just exited a high control religion, so that he can more easily infect them with his repulsive fundamentalist take on the Bible.

  He is a predator. The only consolation is as I have noted, that the longer he preaches, the fewer converts he makes.
