  has anyone on here ever come across the tiniest shred of evidence supporting this date for the fall of jerusalem.

  i understand rolf furuli is about to but something out on this subject (see elihubooks.com), however even a table of contents has been a long time in coming from this site.

  if no evidence exists what can he possibly be writing about?

  Lets us get a few facts straight.

  First and most importantly, I am not a women. Secondly, my appeal was genuine and still is genuine.

  Theile's book has been around since 1951. I actually read, studied and reached conclusions through my own research about it in 1971. I was working at the BM in London then. I have also read Jonnson's research before it was published. I have read Finnegans book, but not Hughes.

  You note:

  Before beginning the assignment please read the article 'Chronology' as discussed in the Aid and Insight book published by the Society.

  This has already been done and digested, much of it I surmise before you were giving your mother upleasent experiences with your diaper.

  This issue can only be settled on weight of evidence as I clearly outlined in my original post on this thread, which you seem to have not read carefully. Present your evidence and leave people to make up their minds on that evidence. Can you not see the point? Your postings so far are not evidence but seek to try to emasculate other peoples arguments by saying - 'if you read this book you would see....'. which may have merit if backed by weight of evidence, but not backed by such, are just so much wind.

  As of your posts to this point, I can well understand why your nom-de-plume is 'Scholar' and not 'Teacher'.

  i can say with some conviction though, that yk does not believe that "biblical interpretation" is "open to speculation" as you suggest

  If you re-read my post you will note that I do not in any way 'suggest' what you suggest that I do suggest! My comment explains the ethic of Biblical interpretation, what YK thinks of that ethic is quite another question, partially answered by the rest of my post.

  Actually,

  I find YK's posts very interesting. Biblical interpretation, one must remember is exactly that, interpretation, and obviously by definition open to speculation.

  Where YK (Hi, Robert) is particulary interesting as an individual, is that he sees his annointing by Christ as giving him a superior ability to interpret Holy writ. In reality he is just as entitled to believe this as some are to believe the opposite. One thing is certain, he most definately inspires many a keyboard to rattle and moan from frenetic overuse.

  The most important thing to remember about YK which will help understand his viewpoint ( that is, if you want to ) is that -

  His 'eye' has seen the 'gory' of the coming of the Lord...

  My reason for bumping this to the top of the postings again is, I can assure you, not in the interests of verbal warfare, but in the genuine intellectual interests of the many 'lurkers' who are visiting this Board with their minds yet undecided on the issue at hand. It is, as you are aware, of utmost importance to conclude exactly where the weight of evidence actually does rest on this issue, which after all is crucial in establishing the veracity of the WTS claim to be the sole conduit through which God works his purpose on earth.

  Scholar, it seems to me that an ideal opportunity has presented itself for you to establish with written evidence the validity of this claim by the WTS. As a ‘scholar’, you well know that giving these people vague nuances and quoting the names of a few authors is not actually producing evidence but is a display of intellectual irresponsibility if it is not sustained by scholarly evidence. I for one can guarantee that I will examine this evidence with a completely open mind.

  Please present, in your own words the evidence for your statement that Jerusalem fell into Gentile hands in 607BCE. You must recall that some of us researched and reached conclusions regarding this issue before Carl Jonnson’s even sent his thesis to Brooklyn.

  You are dangerously close to a new thread being started on this board entitled, ‘Validity Of Scholar's Nom-De-Plume’

  My observation is that they cope with heartbreaking difficulty when they become pariahs at senior level. The WTS's ability to negate any responsibility for their lives and feelings by justifying their disdain towards them for having attached themselves to the 'wrong' baggage, is very convenient. Guilt by association has always been high on the unspoken list of 'theocratic' crimes.

  I too, would like to tip my hat at Ms. Anderson, the lady of courage.

  in another thread maximus ( http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=10757&site=3 ) posted an upbeat announcement about biopure's hemopure - hemoglobin based product derived from stored cow's blood that the hospital information service of the watchtower has said a witness can take, conscience premitting of course.. well, don't get your hopes up too fast.

  this reminds me of the congressman gary condit (or should i say "con-did-it") interview the other night.

  he denies an affair with two women but the "facts" say otherwise.. below is what the street.com has to say about biopure's announcement.
