  yes, i know, the title is a pun.

  it was deliberate.. i can recall in the 1970s seeing very few overweight jws.

  in fact, i used to think (in my arrogant jw manner) that this was a sign of how jws were better at self-control than worldly people.

  What Do You Do?

  i link to this board a couple of times a day, sometimes in the early hours and there is always a flurry of activity, often from an enclave of veterans.

  i wonder, are you all in prison?

  i understand the pc's are allowed in some facilities.. do you all work?

  Am I crazy or what!

  most of you are are aware that i sent out a letter to friends and family exposing the organizations association with the un.. since that time there have been several very important developments including wtbs dissacociating themselves from the un.. because of this i felt i had to get this new information out to everyone i had writen the origional letter to.. i sent this update to out of town friends and family.i encluded a copy of the un letter announcing wt's dissacociation and the two guardian articles.. my plan met with a problem.i knew my local po had warned everyone not to read anything else from me.i knew he would do this so i even sent him a letter along with the rest to show that i stand behind what i wrote and i'm not afraid of him.. today i did the only thing i could think of,i wrote a new letter to the po.. here it is,.

  dear po 10-16-01. circumstances have changed since my last letter to you and others.. i am honor bound to update you and them of these changes.

  im sure that youve told everyone not to open anything from me so thats why i am writing to you only.. the information i sent earlier was accurate and true at the time but as i stated earlier things have changed.. enclosed please find an official copy of the october 11th 2001 letter announcing the termination of the wtbs association with the united nations.

  Tina speaks wisely, I agree with her comment.

  Even if a person is fully aware that their attempts at enlightening others regarding the vagaries of the WTS is futile, the personal commitment required does play a very positive role in breaking ones emotional ties with it.

  Leaving the WTS physically is difficult, expunging its hold on our emotions is even more difficult, an uphill struggle which some never really win, even after years away from the WTS. Many come to this Board for the first time, sometimes decades after leaving the WTS, with much anger and pain still in their hearts.

  So keep doing what you are doing for your own sake, not to win points of argument but as a poultice for your soul.

  i just spent the weekend at these beautiful towns.. i hope to move there in 5 years land prices are very very cheap and the people are super friendly.. it seems to have a 19th century freedom and many of the 21-centurys technology.. you can get ocean view acreage cheap, or a few miles away from the ocean in the big redwoods.. .

  not much work, but good for retirees.. anybody ever live in this part of california?.

  Speaking from an entirely European perspective... What the hell is this thread about anyway?

  Is this the 'Matlock' chap? The guy that makes older people look like incompetent fools and has an obsession with displaying appalling table manners and belching like a cement mixer on screen?

  Now 'Morse', that is a guy worth imagining as an elder. Middle class, heavy drinker, out of shape and as bitter as fox in the House Of Lords.

  Pot-growing, foggy, no work, fine if you mind your own business, one needs to live out of the town to find peace, inhabited by JW's who mow lawns; my God, it sound like every other town I have ever driven through anywhere on the planet.

  'After these things I saw another angel descending from heaven dressed as a chubby little Tabby with a pink bow around its neck and very little authority was given to him, so he cried out with a loud voice saying "Lord, when am I going to be appointed as a Ministerial Servant, this is just not fair".

  And I heard another voice out of heaven say "I wander can he say something better while sitting on his toilet?" and a third of the earth fell asleep at the sound of the angels voice and the first angel went on to say "just a litter while longer and the Tabby will be an apostate".....
