If you take "their" teaching at "their" word I figure that the worst is YHWH will kill me at The Big A.
If I'm dead what's the point- I won't know I'm dead.

John Hopkins---around 1989 Boynton Beach Fla. Recently had left Bethel and returned home with a uncurable disease. bone cancer or lukemia. Stopped to visit his estranged non witness dad at his shop. "Somehow" managed to "fall" under the trailer tires of a passing Semi- as he stepped off into the street.
The windage was right cause he fell in the righ spot. Both axles on the trailer rolled square over him. Locals' did not want to discuss the event openly, however the "S" word did pop up more than once.
Florida has a "sunshine law". The coroners' records should be available.Thats in Palm Beach County

Mispronunciations at the meetings
by TR inmoxy raised a point in the "exaggeration" thread that aggravated me at the meetings.
mispronunciations.
moxy mentioned the word 'hyperbole' as frequently being mispronounced.. another one that bugged me was 'epitome'.

The Bristol assembly hall scandel
by sleepy inis there anyone from the area who remmbers the story of the 30,000 spent on trees for the vist of a gb memmber.. i dont know the exact story as it is now about 7 or 8 years ago but i heard it from several people that worked on the hall.. apparently a gb memmber was to come to britian to dedicate the hall (i cant remmember which one).. the brothers in charge wanted the hall to look nice for his vist.but the land around was yet to be landscaped.. so brothers enquired as to the viability of planting some trees but were informed that it was the wrong time of year and they would die.. the cost of the trees was around the region of 30,000.plus the amount of free labour from the brothers in planting them.. anyway the big bosses of the scheme decided to ignore the professional advice and planted them anyway.. they all died.. 30.000 pounds of money from old ladies, pioneers and little children as well as ordinary publishers went down the drain for the gb's visit.. nice to know they used our money wisely.

Yep About 4:1 ----all Mate seeking girls! or girl chasing boys! Sad thing was I was single during this project, in good standing and all and I never even got an invitation to hang with any of those ladies! (supervised or otherwise!)
Lets see- 2 A halls, and 25-30 KH's, countless set- up work at DA sites and not the first nibble? Maybe I should have kept my shirt on and spent my time leaning on a shovel shooting the BS with the dames? Or being an usher? Oh well : live and learn!

We are not exactly sure what he will do with his tremendous intellect---We can only hope that he will use it in behalf of mankind and against evil.
My bet : Lawyer, maybe writer-excellent creative skills.
He's been talking paramedic. We've been trying to get him into a med career a little farther up the money pyramid and down the stress/ burnout ladder. Maybe nursing or some other Para med occupation. Its a growth industry. We know for sure he doesn't have a "engineering", sweating, or WWWWWorking (Maynard G Crebs) bone in his little bod. Bending his back to gain anything hold no facination to this one.

We built one in Broward Fl back in the 80's. The thing is a "temple" all right. Was 'sposed to cost about $5-7 M -god only knows how they kept the books- this thing had to go $10M even with the "free" labor.
They had kids working in confined spaces, on the 3 story roof etc. Damn lucky sombody didnt get killed. Hand digging ditches for pipes, mechanical systems in petrified coral. Lotsa dumb stuff that a professional construction manager would'nt allow. Lotsa wasted capital dollars. Old folks and working stiffs donated every buck- what a waste.
I did electrical work on the site about 30 hours a weekend for over a year. This building had a complex electrical system (and few quailfied workers) I spent most of the time supervising unskilled people (then spending half the night making corrections) I guess it taught me how to be a diplomat.
Somebody donated a stainless steel kitchen- state of the art- now waiting to go the the scrapper. We probably did over $ 500K just in mechanical and electrical for food service and It was used maybe 6 times before the "new" food service kicked in.
Story has it that the architect was a "new brother". He donated his services in designing this hall, lotsa great expensive features. Story has it that some of the GB/home office types gave council about how showy the place was.
The "construction manager" ended up gettin a "promotion". Last I heard he was the manager at the Jersey City, NJ assembly hall, named Fayad (?), ran into him when we visited there in 90 or so. He was a pant load. Got into it with him one day - he expected us to work on ladders all day, installing heavy light fixtures working bare- footed cause HE had ordered the carpet installed early. Pulled about 20 electricians of the job because he wanted us to work under unsafe conditions. I won the battle, but got a little reamed for being "vocal". The same guy had some folks install about 400 sheets of drywall brown side out (backwards) on walls that didnt have electric and plumbing installed yet. That was at least a $2K Oh Sh*t. His logic, " we had willing Brothers here with NOTHING to do!" So have 'em waste a bunch of sweat and materials. What a crock!
Was installing some HVAC control work in a rooftop "penthouse". It was about 150* degrees up there so I had shed my shirt. I was working alone most of the day up there. Stepped out to the nearest water keg and good ol' Bro Nitwit jumped my case about "modesty and going shirtless and how young girls.... (if you've seen me without a shirt you'd be LYAO). I told him to get bent. He's all flusterd now and starts to go into "banning me from the site..bad.attitude..greive the Holey spirit...." So I ask him if HE can finish the HVAC work and keep the project on schedule- now I'm indespensible!
Oh well Live and Learn
edited cause I forgot something.....

I've served 3 Union ( IBEW) apprenticships in the electric trade. Inside wireman, Utility cable splicer, and High voltage lineman. Completed about half of an AS in Aviation Technology. I have completed several tech schools also. Somebody told me that I could test out for a degree- just have not looked int that yet.
Was lucky-my folks didn't discourage( or overtly encourage it either) education. Went to an excellent High School. I knew I could'nt afford college so I loaded up on as much serious education as I could during HS. I was told that I'd never finish (class of '78) when I was a freshman in '75. Ended up graduating in the top 1/3 of my class. I turned down a full ride scholorship to Memphis State. There was a military obligation from the US Navy. I took the ASVAB test to get out of classes one day--test results told the DOD that I might be "officer material" lol.
I teach for a trade/ technical program related to the high voltage industry. So much for the WT slant on the future, education, work etc.
If I would have bought into that totally I'd be living in a box over a steam grate someplace.Of course If I "knew now".... I'd be an Indian scout, nuclear gynocoligist, or a horse whisperer. Not necessarily in that order.

Stevie Ray- his peers dug him! So did I. He was on the bill with the IMMORTAL (though not dead) Eric Clapton when he died.
Hendrix- a pioneer!
John Lee Hooker and just about any of the Chicago-Mississippi Bluesmen. All Those dudes laid the groundwork for ROCK AND ROLL!Les Paul- Chet Atkins- excellent players. So was Bill Monroe.
Patsy Cline- timeless- really one of the first "crossover" sucesses from country to top 40
Jimmie Rodgers "The Singing Brakeman"- first country legend
Hank Williams Sr- The Country LegendIrving Berlin---- all of those great movie songs from those old 40's films. Writers count too.
Sinatra- yes, but what about Dean Martin, the guy could sing!
Mel Torme- kinda different- one of a kind.Who ever wrote those classic Kingdom Songs,77,103,5,9, and 45----If he's not dead at least , please, take up another line of work.
