  Where do they sit in your hall?

  what i find bemusing is, if there are any disfellowshipped ones in your hall they have to sit at the back.

  now without getting into the merits/rights/wrongs of whether this should be still acceptable, where do they sit in your hall?

  you see i seem to remember that they would sit on the back row, come in quietly just after the song and prayer and leave at the end just as quick.

  Good point Jez. The rules are endles and no one wants to incure the disfavour of the elders. Im also peeved by the fact that a lot of the rules and procedures are secret and suject to change without notice.

  Some are older men some are old women.

  Know how you feel I used to resent being told I couldnt pray for the dfd. I had some good freinds who were dfd. Raises an interesting question. If you cant pray for the dfd can the dfd pray?

  I used to sit with my family right in the middle. I would turn up early and make eye contact deliberatly and smile nicely. If some one came up to speak not knowing my situation I would talk back. They still reinstated me!

  Jez: I had similar experience wile I was DFD. My wife was studing at the time and they snubed her too. Great example of John 13:35. So whats your situation now. Did you ever get dunked?

  i thought the name of this thread was so on time for this thread demostrates one of the sad things about claiming to speak for god, when one actually does not.. when i was a newly appointed elder at the tender age of 27 .

  i was introduced to the world of the judical committee.. it was in fact my first case.

  i had gotten a call from the po before the meeting stating that their would be an elders meetings to discuss some judical matters.

  i am new to this site.

  i just want to say that its great, always nice to know that you're not alone in the fight.

  i wish all current jws could be forced to sit and read through all these posts just once.....but thats dreaming, i guess.. it seems that from the psychological aspect the experience can be horrible.

  I'll do the search thing and try to find them. I remember seeing a list on the web some time ago. From memory most related to psyc assesment for military service. I seem to remember a Canadia report about the Psycological effects of disfellowsiping. It was a long time ago so I may be wrong.

  to all those who have in some way left the organization (be it disfellowshipping, disassociating, dis-whatever):.

  come now, i know the amount of people who "realized that wt doctrine was in serious error" and politely handed in their letter of resignation has to be very small.

  the level of bitterness and hostility towards the closest-to-what's-biblical organization has to develop some other way.. what did you do?

  Can I ask you why you joinded the "Truth". Was your life empty and meaningless. Were you a nobody that craved recognitiong. Do you desire hero status. Do you need a crutch and cant find it anywhere else.

  Welcome. There seems to there has been a population explosion on the site lately.

  Regarding the Psych reports There are dozens on the web Some contadictory but as Farkel said if only part of its true its a worry. Many years ago in Australia (about the time of the KH bombing at Bonnyrig)there was a lot of press about the high rate of mental illness amoungst JWs. The Watchtower response was "No other Oransiation could look after these people the way we do." They didn't argue the accuracy of the information.

  just like the urban legends that we all heard at assemblies, we also read questions from readers in the wts rags...did you guys ever read those while you were still jws and think "oh my god...there is no way that some 8 year old wrote or even said any of this.

  " or when you heard at assemblies that we should be soooo thankful because the brothers in africa are walking through gator infested, malarial waters with their children on their backs and their book bags and meeting clothes on their heads, through monsoon rains 74 miles each way to attend their assemblies.

  my mother used to say the same thing about cleaning my plate because there were kids in whoknowswhere starving to death.

  Have you noticed less and less questions fromreaders over the last few years. In the 70's & 80's nearly every issue hade a QFR but now your lucky (or unlucky) to get 5 a year. Either they dont like questions or JWs know everything allready
