has anyone on this board ever experienced contact with demons?.
i have heard demons talked about for years, however i have never known anyone that has had any real experiences with them, i have only heard storys.. .
(some quotes).
I thought I had bad experiences with the demons however when I learned about sleep paralysis it all started to make sense. (And It was good to have a spooky story to tell at those fireside chats. Didn’t want to feel left out)
I also had a friend at school who was always seeing spooky things – People stepping out of walls and things but turnded out he was schizophrenic and hallucinating. (Symptom or cause? Don’t know).
I have to conclude there is much unknown but if God wants to tell me about it he’ll have to use a more reliable source.

didn't find an appropriate forum for this unique perspective:.
'our planet spends billions on searching for extraterrestrial life.
have they never thought seriously about the question: what would happen if we found it, or if it found us.
The evolution model (Survival of the aggressive) would likely produce a dog eat dog mentality. However one would hope an increase in intelligence would shift the scale towards community ethics.
These aliens (if they exist) are probably shaking their heads in disbelief.

one day, an expert in time management was speaking to a group of business students and, to drive home a point, used a illustration those students will never forget.. as he stood in front of the group of high-powered overachievers he said,"okay,.
time for a quiz.
" and he pulled out a one-gallon, wide-mouth mason jar and set it on the table in fornt of him.. he also produced about a dozen fist-sized rocks and carefully placed them, one at a time, into the jar.
I like to get my rocks off at least once a week

Does look empty and deserted – Like some one got zealous and built it in their back yard. Perhaps after the Kingdom Increase District Convention. That was the one when they told us to expect a tenfold increase and they started building 250 seat KH’s for congs with 30-40 publishers

JWD: I'd be interested in your thoughts on the following
Many years ago I worked in Japan. I had been told to expect humility and politeness, which I did experience. However I also noted the Samurai spirit was very strong – Blind devotion and unquestioning loyalty. The Boss is always right even when he’s wrong!
Question: Was this the spirit that fuelled the rapid growth during the 80’s
Something I have observed with loyalty - The stronger the sense of loyalty the bigger the rejection when the subject discovers he as been betrayed. If this is the case in Japan I expect some very serious problems in the future.
From a western perspective the Japanese men treated their women very badly. Do you think this was a contributing factor to the high proportion of women getting baptised?
if this happened to you?.
sitting behind my computer a few mornings ago, i was doing the share of reading that i do on a daily basis, sipping my coffee, minding my own, when an instant message appeared on my screen.
call it second nature, i responded as i usually do.
I must say you have raised my curiosity. Can you Email me with more info.

i noted a long thread earlier that dealt with the frequency with which jws will accept medical practices that are far out of the mainstream.
kinesiology, and herbs, and the like were all mentioned, and there was much discussion about whether these things should be taken seriously or not.
i do not want to get into such a discussion, but wanted to talk about why i think jws are so frequently involved in such health pursuits.. someone mentioned that jws are trained to be suspicious of the medical establishment, and that's right.
I agree totally with JanH
Iridology is still big here at the moment. Seems to me to be little more than divination or palmistry. To my knowledge there is no real science behind it. I find it ironic that divination is condemned in the Bible but the JWs eat up this stuff. (And don't start me about the pyramid thing)
Has anyone done any scientific research on this?

I think an awful lot of JW's go for alt therapies because there isnt actually anything physical wrong with them.I think there is a lot of truth to that. Amazing how well a placebo will work if your not actually sick. Or how sick you can become if someone looks into your eyes and tells you you are.
