[the following is a little over 4 pages, but it is worth the read and it gets better as you get to the end.].
while i personally experienced several more acts where jw elders lied to me personally, the following is the most serious because it involved brother a. i mentioned him earlier where he was lied to by the jc and they used a confidential file against him that they developed over ten years a file he was never allowed to see or defend himself against.. sometime between january 1993, the jw elders on the jc were in the final stages of their meeting with brother a. this was before his first appeal.

You did raise some valid points. However I suspect by reading this experience, you may have also over reacted. Easy enough to do! I am appreciative by the information and insights you provide and it rings true with my experience

In recent times Tourist’s, Foreign Consultants, etc have been kidnapped for ransom by rebels and self interest groups. Some areas the major income is from kidnapping for ransom. Some militant groups fund their militia by kidnapping.
My question is: Is it ethical to pay the ransom considering a) It is funding an illegal activity b) If the kidnappers are successful they will be encouraged to do it againNext thought: Would the Watchtower Society pay a ransom if one of their missionaries or representatives were kidnapped?
Next thought: Jesus was a ransom for our sins right.
So whom was the ransom paid to? My understanding was that it was to satisfy Jehovah’s own sense of justice ie Eye for Eye etc so was Jesus tortured to death to satisfy God.

sitting behind my computer a few mornings ago, i was doing the share of reading that i do on a daily basis, sipping my coffee, minding my own, when an instant message appeared on my screen.
call it second nature, i responded as i usually do.

AcapulcoGold: I don’t think the “society” would risk their elders or bethelites in such a dangerous practice as monitoring apostates. If they were monitoring seriously they would use professional security subcontractors. (“I once worked for a group that monitored radio station broadcasts). And then of course there are the non society sanctioned monitoring by trolls
