@Quandry-I am still able to associate with my family that are 'in'. My mom has become an uber JW but doesn't get preachy with me. She knows that I am not returning-not from me but from my cousin who told her-and she doesn't bring it up to me. We get along quite well.
I really want to tell her the whole truth about the JW's and why I won't return but don't want her to have to choose between me and them. I hate that she is so zealous about the WTBS.

i started watching game of thrones and it has become my fav tv show in a long time.
i may even read the novels.
i love fantasy novels and movies, i always tried not to like them and felt bad when a new book came out and always gave in and read it lol.
I love it!! My favorite story line on there is the Khaleesi. She has certainly taken the role of queen perfectly.

before describing the keys to combating mind control, i would like to overcome an individuals natural tendency to believe that they could never be controlled, to increase their awareness to personality behaviors that they may have developed while under the influence of mind control, and how to protect themselves in the future.

how does a jw feel when he "has" to shun someone he likes/loves?.
during the time i was in, i shunned people.
but as i didn't like them, it was no problem.. but now, i'm trying to understand how my family might really feel.. (i presume here, of course, that they do "like/love me".).
"I just wanted you to know how much I have truly missed you . For the last 4.5 years I have felt like a piece of my heart has been missing. I have wanted to call you so many times and I always had you on my mind. Now, I feel like that piece of my heart has been put back. I missed you so much. "
The above statement is written by my aunt to me after we got back in touch. I saved this and read it once in a while to remind myself how destructive the WTBS really is.
i had one (elder) who loved to pick on the sisters who had an unbeliveing mate......he had short mans syndrome and got a kick out of it.. co, han hubler...anyone that knew him will know what i mean.. he was so disliked it was hard to get anyone to have him for a meal when he visited..
Maury Wickham-very judgmental and wanted his way to be the only way. When I was in my early 20's, I was reinstated. I seen him at the assembly a few days after my reinstatement was announced and he said to me, "Hello- I heard you were reinstated, let's hope it stays that way." I was shocked at the rudeness and my mom was furious!!

Yes-My aunt who is a year and a half younger than me. We grew up like sisters. She joined the Mormon religion and called me to tell me her decision. I told her that i wasn't going to be able to have contact with her because of it.
And for 5 long years, we didn't talk. It was heartbreaking. Once I realized the what the WTBS was all about, i called her and we've been close as ever since then. I feel so embarrassed by my decision to cut her off.

Yes-100% out. Wish my mom would get out now, working on that very carefully.
